I hit a plateau for December and I'm just starting to see the scale move this week. But besides that, my jeans have been getting pretty lose on me. I may need to size down to a pair of 10s18

Was planning on going to dunkin donuts for lunch to basically eat my feelings, but changed my mind after getting a call from my husband that he's making dinner tonight.29

I lost weight in my upper back. It’s a shame it’s not the tummy since I feel like that is my problem area or well, the place where I could lose a whole lot more. But hey, I canactually feel a difference! I might not see it but certain clothes fit better and my bra band is getting loose I’m so happy there is a change since I haven’t been logging as accurately as I should20

I went to the gym today for the first time in my life and although I was anxious I enjoyed it.39

Yesterday my wedding ring fell off while I was drying my hands. It used to be too tight. I'll wrap some string on it for now; I'm not getting it tightened until I've hung out at my target weight for a while.15

I walked up a hill! An actual hill! And it was hard work but not so hard it was unpleasant, and I... loved it. And want to do it more.24

I had two this week and I'm absolutely stoked. In late October, I snapped the meniscus in my left knee and haven't been able to walk properly, kneel or straighten my knee since. I had surgery in December and during physical therapy this week, my therapist was able to break up some of the scar tissue. I can now walk normal, straighten my leg and.... kneel. Sure, it still aches and I'm about a month out from getting back to the gym, but I did it!
Next up? Begin a walking training schedule so I can do my first ever 5K!25 -

I joined our local triathlon club, which is an NSV by itself! I chose a medium club t-shirt, but in the back of my mind I was sure it would be too small. I should have gotten at least a large. Nope! The medium fits perfectly!26

Sitting on the edge of the bed, getting dressed this morning, my bum was a bit uncomfortable. At first I thought my mattress was getting old and I was feeling the springs. Then while on the couch putting on my shoes, my bum hurt again. I realized it was sore from sitting on the curb talking to my neighbor last night. What?!? I've lost some of that extra padding in my bottom!
Next task is to firm up what's left!14 -

1) Made my daughter a heavily laden chocolate cake for her 18th birthday today. And I mean heavily laden (chocolate cake, chocolate buttercream, and covered in chocolate buttons, ripples and maltesers).
I finished it, looked at it, listened to the children saying that it was a "cool" cake, looked at it again and decided that there was no way I was eating any of it. Cue: "Why not?" from the children quickly followed by, "All the more for us then!".
They are welcome to it as it's the sort of cake whereby you just have to look at it to feel the calories piling on . . . although a chocolate lover's delight, it looked pretty disgusting. I felt sick just looking at it.
Needless to say, the children will only be getting very small pieces of it when they have some.
I expect it to last the four of them until my daughter's 19th birthday (it was a fairly big cake).
2) Completed my 26th Parkrun today. That's 130km in Parkruns alone. Just over halfway to my first T-shirt. Still can't cover the distance in under 30 minutes but it doesn't matter. Always finish in the last 10% but that doesn't matter. I'm out there, dispite the weather, running and loving it.
The only person in my house who loves it as much as I do is my little girl who wakes up every Saturday saying, "It's YOUR Parkrun day, Mum!" and every Sunday with, "It's MY Parkrun day, Mum!". My daughter completes her 21st run tomorrow, so she'll have covered the same distance as a marathon.
We've made lots of friends, through both running and volunteering. Between all six members of my family, we've volunteered 185 times and four of us have run 72 times. My little girl is the youngest volunteer at the moment, she has the "Funnel Manager" job with her Dad, so she stands for over an hour at the funnel, shouting, "Well done!" to each and every runner who goes though the finish line. Today, that was nearly 600 times. Lots of people make an effort to speak to her, even seeking her out before the run to say something to her (she calls these people her "fans"). In the colder weather she wears a hat shaped like a penguin's head (complete with beak) which is often a topic of conversation and today she had two older volunteers "waddling" around like penguins after her. You had to see it to appreciate it, but it was very funny to watch.
Next Saturday I'm hoping that she'll walk the 5km course with me. My son usually runs with me but he's having a minor operation two days beforehand and we're not sure if he'll be well enough to run, so he and I will be the tail walkers and maybe my little girl might decide to walk with us. She's more than capable of walking 5km, it's just a case of will she want to do it?34 -
Realized that when a song from Zumba class came on the radio today that I knew all the moves and was totally jiving to it in traffic!29

It’s crazy to me just this photo comparison from april(my heaviest) to Jan. Got serious about my health in November and really forget sometimes the progress I’ve made. My smile just feels more genuine in the 2nd picture. I feel so much better.23

today I was too cozy in bed to make my 8.15am bodypump class so I went to a bums and tums class instead. I was pleased to have made it to the gym at all, but I noticed in the mirror that my lower leg/ankle has an indent That used to be covered by fat, so it was nice to spot

I wore a crop top for the first time in my life. I was apprehensive at first bc I still have some belly fat that I need to get rid of, but after encouragement from my kids I did it. And got mad compliments too!23
