FitBit Step Adjustment

Hi, can someone tell me if this seems right?
I have done no exercise today as in HIIT Training etc however I have walked approx 16,500 steps.
FitBit has synced with MFP and created an adjustment of 1094 calories?? Is that really right??
If you need stats I am on approx 1600 a day, 13 stone and set at lightly active.
Thanks in advance xx

That amount of adjustment for that many steps at your current weight is quite possible.
For comparison, I am 55, 5'8", 150 lbs (10s,10lb), in maintenance, have a Fitbit Charge 2, and had MFP set at Sedentary when I had a day last October with 16,079 steps and no intentional exercise. On that day, I earned 1978 extra Calories as my Fitbit Calorie adjustment. Sedentary for me is about 2500 steps to get a zero Fitbit Calorie adjustment.
You burn more Calories when you move your weight (i.e. by walking or running). That earns Calories; so both steps and intentional exercise count.
Your total activity as estimated by Fitbit exceeded the estimated MFP Calorie goal based on your chosen MFP Activity Level (Sedentary, Lightly Active, Active, or Very Active). Since the Fitbit estimate exceeded the MFP estimate, the MFP goal was adjusted to add a positive Fitbit Calorie Adjustment.
I would recommend reading through the first three posts in this thread on the MFP Fitbit Users group...

Hi. Thanks for your response. Much appreciated!
I’ve already read those posts and I understand how the adjustments work per se but I was shocked at how high the adjustment was is all.0
