I'm not really ready to buy a dress, but we went shopping where there are a bunch of outlet malls, and we were right next to a big bridal shop and I just couldn't resist. I tried on four dresses and determined I DO NOT LIKE big and poofy on me. It felt so strange. It was fun though, and it helped me figure out what styles I like and don't like. Definitely liked the Casablanca 1827 I tried on.

Even though I had no bulging or whatever in the dress (clothes disguise my lovehandles very well), everytime I got out of a dress and saw myself in the mirror it was motivation like no other! Oh my goodness! I want my husband to take off my dress and see a HOT body...not a flabby one. lol

So yeah, major motivation there!!!!

  • Dress shopping is so much fun! I'm sure you will find just the right one, and look so beautiful. Good luck and best wishes!
  • I'm beginning to love dress shopping too! I found my dress and I have my eye on the size 4! Good Luck!

Yeah I tried on a size 6 and the zipper went almost all the way up. Almost!!! lol I'm being patient though and will not really start dress-hunting until I'm satisfied with my body. My wedding isn't until next year and I want to buy my dress possibly before this summer, so I think I'll have enough time.

I thought you were already married cause of your ticker pic  I thought that was you, hehe. I got my dress in a size 12 last summer. bought it off the rack, fit perfectly, y'all are making me feel miiiighty fat. But I had a fitting in december and it has now been taken in to about a size 8 so that makes me happy. it might have to come in a little more still though.

You don't like poofy? Mine is kind of poofy... ahhhh I loved trying on gowns.

Maybe it was just the poofy I tried on. I plan on trying many, many more dresses, so maybe I will end up with a poofy. I probably shouldn't judge all poofy dresses based on the 2 I tried on, lol. It was probably just the tops of them really...I have a smaller chest so some designs on the top of a gown can make my top half look silly.

And actually, I am married, haha. My husband and I got married at the courthouse on New Year's Eve and he deployed to Iraq about two weeks later. We decided to do it before he deployed for a couple of different reasons, but we definitely want a ceremony when he comes home next year so we can celebrate with our families. I know some people don't like the idea of that, and people online on some sites have given me a hard time over it, but that's okay. To each his own.

ahhhh I see, well I won't give you a hard time because I don't really think there's anything wrong with how you decided to do it, and even if I did it sure wouldn't be my place to give you a hard time about it. the nerve of some people. But either way I was wrong, I was going to compliment you on the pic too, it's lovely, lol. And the couple in it resemble you and your husband so you see my confusion  Yes, I tried on many dresses too... You'll know it when you get THE one on your body though, you'll just know, trust me

Congratulations and good luck finding the perfect dress. That sounds like a lot of fun!! I'm sure there's not much difference in a wedding/ vow ceremony or whatever they're calling it now with these different situations... thank you both for your service to our country and I hope you have a lovely wedding or ceremony or whatever it is. And it also sounds like great motivation/ inspiration when it comes to staying healthy!!

Thanks everyone for being so cool about it! :) I've heard so many people say that you always know it's the one when you put it on...I can't wait to find my dress! 10 more pounds though...10 more pounds....lol
