I am somewhat insane, so don't take the title as offensive. I had anxiety attack earlier, but anyways what do you all think about clothes sizing nowadays? You can be obese at size 6 now honestly bcuz of vanity sizing !!

    Ok so I think i maybe a size 18/20w at 270 something lbs currently. Not sure tho but I mean I was a 18 at 240 in 2015. In 2010, I was a size 14 at 180 lbs.

I weigh 235. I am wearing size 20w pants. Sometimes I can wear 18 to 20 depending on the type of pants. When I was at 245 I was wearing size 22w but they were kind of loose on me. At 243 I could still squeeze into my 20w. It all depends on the make of the clothes. Size 20w is a little bigger than size 18/20.

I do know that back in the day when I wore a size 10, now they would probably be a size 6 or 8

Now that you mention it, it does seem that sizes have changed over the past few years. I remember my senior year of high school (2009) I was 170lbs and a size 10. Now I am 200lbs and a size 10 at some stores. It's funny because size 10 and 170lbs was always my goal. I guess I need to adjust that a bit and keep the weight the same but aim for a 6 or 8. I can't imagine being in single digit sizes. When I was my heaviest last year, which was about 300lbs, I was wearing a size 22 and it was getting tight. I am 5'4.

I wonder what this means in terms of "the average woman's size". They recently released a study that stated the average woman is now a size 16. Is that really an 18-20 in ten years ago sizes?

So you are size 10 at 200? Wow that is good but weird.

The avg woman being 16 is not exactly true bcuz that's a average. I seen plenty of skinny girls when I was at college. Now I'm in online college tho

See old women think a size 10 is for like 140 lbs tho, like my grandma thinks 90 lb girl would be size 4.

My goal weight is 145. So... I honestly don't know. LOL. Maybe a 12. Several years ago when I was down to 170 and was 25 lb away from my goal weight I was wearing 16s and some 14s. However what my chest is going to do I do not know. I'll probably still need to wear size 18 tops just so I can button them across the hull of the Titanic that is my bosom

I wear 8-10 at 140 pounds. A lot of it depends on how the weight is distributed.

I have to try on everything anyway - I can tell by looking at them on the hanger, too. I buy quite a few of my pants at Goodwill and the sizes seem all over the place. It also depends on the manufacturer.

Back before I had children, when I was 23 and hot... jeez 25 years ago...I weighed about 127 lb. That was when I was wearing mostly size 10s.

I agree with you. I was a size 18 back in HS when I was my thinnest- abt 165 lbs- (I graduated in 2000) and now I'm at 210 I can wear the same size! Just...NO!! What if I lose enough weight to be an ACTUAL size 18 again, how TF am I gonna find what fits me?! I mean it would be cool to brag and be all like "oh I wear a 10!" but ppl are gonna look at me and go "girl, why you lyin?"

When I had lost and gotten down to 170 lb, my boobage did not decrease. Although when I was 127 I was only at most a 34b cup LOL. Now I'm like a triple D 42 something like that

I haven't really noticed much difference overall based on my weight compared to my clothing size, although I find it interesting how we all wore a similar size at different weights! When I was 165 I was a size 14 (around 2012). Around college in '08 I was 111-115 and wore X-Smalls and a size 4 jeans. Now in the 120s I wear Smalls and size 8 jeans. There is definitely a difference in manufacturers and stores (I wear a bigger size at Forever 21 compared to the Women's department at Macy's, etc)

Girl I could not agree more. I am a size 0 in certain clothes but when I look in the mirror I'm honestly like "b****, where?" LOL! I do agree though that it depends on how weight is distributed. I have a thin waist but a very "healthy" butt and set of legs so if you only saw me below the waist (sorry if that sounds weird haha) you would think I was like a 6-8. Bodies are weird and I've just accepted that fact. :P and yes, I can relate about the anxiety attacks as a sufferer of them myself. Sorry about that and hope you're feeling better <3
