Hello everyone just getting straight to the point I have ulcerative colitis and had been struggling to put on some weight or muscle gains, also I'm naturally a skinny guy. I was wondering what foods could I eat eat for example breakfast lunch or dinner if you guys are willing to share. Just to add I have to cut out gluten and diary since I cannot handle it, also I'm limiting carbs since it does quite abit of damage to my condition. Thank you

Eat the foods you enjoy that don’t bother your system that put you in a calorie surplus1

Your condition means you have a short list of foods that don’t aggravate your colitis. Stick with those.
To gain, it’s not so important WHAT foods you eat as HOW MUCH.
Calorie dense foods are easier to get in as you don’t have to eat as much to get the calorie punch. This would be all the fatty foods. Try drinking your calories throughout the day and since dairy is out this could be fruit juices of all kinds and Gatorade such as Gatorade sport.0 -
@jgnatca I wouldn't drink fruit juices or Gatorade sport since they contain high in sugar0

Does it irritate your condition? Do you have a medical reason to watch sugar? If not you have nothing to fear from sugar. Sugar is not toxic.2 -
To gain you have to eat foods high in something. If sugar doesn’t trigger your IBD, go at it. You may brush your teeth afterwards to avoid tooth decay.0

Unless you need to watch your sugar, this may be your best bet. My best friend also has ulcerative colitis and when she's having a bad flareup she can usually only consume Gatorade.0 -
You could get a prescription for BeneProtein or try this:

I have Crohn's, and I am gaining weight on the Autoimmune Protocol. I also eat relatively low carb and produce has to be cooked. It's harder having restrictions, but it's doable.
Eat what you can tolerate, and eat more of it! Since you have trouble with carbs, up your fats. Dousing meals in oil are easy calories. Avocados, eggs, soups, nut butters, fatty fish, smoothies (if you can handle raw food) are calorie dense foods that tend to be easier to digest.1 -
@usmcmp If you look at my post above I mention I have ulcerative colitis0

I have Crohn's and when I am in a flare I drink Carnation Instant Breakfast shakes blended with a banana and milk (you could use soy or almond milk). They were recommended by my doctor and have been a big help. If you are trying to keep your sugar intake low, try a shake with protein powder, almond milk and avocado and/or peanut butter instead.0
