Perks of being Italian. I didn't even eat it. I can't believe it. Anyone else not cave in?

OMG yum. Next time send it my way4

You've got great willpower - way to go! My work has a tin of Danish butter cookies that I'm having a hard time resisting. I make myself log each cookie though.
You're my role model this week!3 -

Good for you! If you want it, eat it. If not, politely pass. There's no need to eat something 1) just because it was offered to you and 2) simply because it's available. Eat what you want, when you want, and if it fits your calorie goal.6

Question: does this happen often or rarely? If it's a rare occurance, it's a shame to pass up the chance to have something cosi' buono (delicious). If it happens often, you'll get another chance.1 -
I am on a diet and planning not to cut sweets out. For me, a life without sweets is a sad one indeed.
I've succeeded so far... Since A couple of days after Christmas I have lost almost 9 pounds.
And I've had sweets. I've had ice cream, I've had candy, I had birthday cake for my daughter.
It makes me sad to think of that poor lonely cannoli. I wish I could have it. I wish someone would have offered me a cannoli today.8 -

Well done!
Someone offered me some raspberry chocolate at work today and I turned it down. I didn't have room for it in my calorie goal for the day.
It's a good feeling!0 -
Co-worker's birthday today. Someone brought in cupcakes and our S/Sgt brought in a giant box of assorted chocolate covered cookies. Wasn't even tempted
*yay me*

Before I retired, people were always leaving things in the coffee room and one guy would bring leftover cookies and brownies from meetings to see if anyone wanted one.
I had no problem turning down any of this because I thought about the last time I had similar food, and how it tasted - and I would ask myself: are the calories really worth it for a pedestrian commercially baked cookie or a waxy half-dried-out brownie?
In other words, I do a cost-benefit analysis - how much satisfaction am I likely to get from eating it vs how many calories will I be ingesting? I never eat anything any more just because it's there. Last work cake I had was at my retirement party - it had by my request lemon frosting and coconut filling, and was from a small bakery rather than the local grocery store. I had a big piece and took another home - because I knew the pleasure would be a lot more than the cost in calories. I skipped lunch that day and ate light the next to compensate.
The cannoli would be a toss-up for me - depends on how fresh it was, and where it came from. There's an Italian bakery 15 miles north of me that has excellent cookies and cannoli - no way I'd turn anything down from that bakery. But I'm aware today when I do make a choice, and weigh the consequences.5 -

Leave the gun, take the Cannoli.3

I don't even know what it is.
I think I'm the only person who always refuses food from others, maybe I come across as rude, but I hate when people suggest I have something they've brought in. It's a habit now. Only water is acceptable, sometimes tea or coffee.0 -

ETA: Even better, take both, avenge the ricotta, and enjoy the cannoli as your sweet reward.2 -

I could...but...0 -

I could...but...
But nothing. There are things I can do with ricotta that would make angels weep and grandmothers swear off their Sunday gravy. Calling it "stank" is a sin that even the Pope himself could not absolve. Such a concept deserves no indulgence among the civilized.5 -
Good for you!!! Cannolis I’m not a fan of BUT .... cupcakes
I’ll NEVER pass those up...which is probably why I haven’t reached my goal yet
