Fell off the rails.. BIG TIME

Well I ate everything in sight for 8 days. I did a rough estimate of about 5500 to 7000 calories a day. Here is the weird part, of course I expected a increase on the scale but it was 35lbs!! I called my dietician friend who calmed me down and explained that A. I was still holding a lot of the food in my body and B it was going too be a lot of water weight. Well I got back on the wagon five days ago and 23 lbs are already off. I haven't starved myself or killed myself with cardio. Only major change was drinking a butt load more water. Bowel movements have been pretty often same with going number one. Prior too calling my buddy my wife said during all three of her pregnancies the doctors always reassured her the most fat a healthy person would gain in a week is around 3 pounds eating like a mad man.

I guess the reason I am sharing this is that it could have easily spun out of control for weeks or months negating all the weight I have lost since my lifestyle change. But I stopped I looked in the mirror and saw that bloated belly that had been disappearing coming back and I said "not this time" .. So too all the people here who have a bad day or week or whatever, don't trust that scale all the time. Get back too your routine and be patient. We all can do this..

You did not gain 35 lbs in 8 days. Something is wrong with your numbers or your story.

Why would I or my scale lie? Is it too brag about eating like a glutton for 8 days? To say but this much has come off?

If you would take a look on the internet ie.. Google it. You can see where people who are eating a restricted sodium diet and usually don't carry much water weight have gained over 40 in under a week. This happens often too bodybuilders who can lose 15 lbs of water weight in a matter of three days "usually with the help of lasix (sp)" to come in at the max weight for their division. Then gain a tremendous amount of weight in the next week or so.

But still, why would I make up a story?

I went and got weighed today after a month of f it eating (my mums dying, i live 100 miles away and getting regular come now calls )
I was suprised ive only gained 4lb and from how i feel i suspect at least half of that is water retention

I am very sorry about your mother.

I'm glad that you have seen some progress... I am struggling as I gained 20lbs this winter. I really cleaned up my diet the past two weeks and started moving more however the flab ony guy and chest area is stuck and o haven't lost at all. I feel hopeless.

You are doing what you need to my friend. We have all been in that situation, this time though we need too learn from it, forget it, and move on.

I know the majority of the water weight is probably gone and I set myself back more than a month of hard work, but what is a month when people are living into their 80's. When I was much heavier I lost a lot more weekly then I do now and it was disheartening at first but it is coming off and I am just happy with that.

As far as the areas your unhappy with. We all have them. I wrecked havoc on my stomach and my inner thighs near the pubic area. I am hoping with continued weight training I can make that area of my thigh less gross too me. I will have loose skin on my stomach no amount of exercise will fix and I do not have the money for cosmetic surgery. I hope I will learn too consider it a battle wound but I won't lie right now it is a constant reminder what I did too myself.
