Hi, I am almost 64yr and have i have just smashed my first target of 40 lbs lost. However, I would like to lose another 30 lbs if i can. Been on low carb high fat for about 21 wks (inc Xmas wks :( ) so if i work hard i am hoping to hit my next target in about 16 wks. (Not gonna beat myself up if i don't though) Soooo looking forward to summer this year. MFP is set at 1000 cals a day, with 25% Carbs, 25% Fat, 50% Protein, i dont know if this is right, but most days i try to stay between 50-75 Carbs but dont mind if the odd day goes up to 100.

I'm old but I'm in. I'm at 192 and want to be 155. It's been five years since I've been 155. I'm 58 years old. Just started the Mediterranean way of eating. Was 198 a week ago so it's already working.
  • Hi I have about 40 lbs to lose too. I have managed to lose about 40 lbs so far. Please add me. I have been following a combination od diets, but I found the most success when I had a protein diet shake for lunch. It just gets so hard to drink that though. I am currently doing low cal and higher protein meals. But it is going really slow.

Started at 245 @ the end of October and down to 215 now. 5'11" male 55 years old. Ideal for me is @190. In one breath it's great losing that weight, but it's a little bittersweet. I'm kind of a clothes horse and now my stuff is just sagging on me. Shirts aren't too bad because I have a great tailor and he's been able to "resize" many of them 1-2 sizes. But, pants costs a little too much because they have to be recut and the results are a little mixed. I've also had to buy insoles to put in my shoes because they're a little "floppy" now. C'est la vie.
