i do not understand why i feel like i have to force myself to drink water....what is that?

I never feel thirsty, and I usually never want to drink to fluids during eating.

Help!

  • I don't know how much help this is, but for me, the more I drink it, the more I want it. I start out working hard just to get six glasses in a day, and soon I'm downing three quarts most days without a thought--sometimes more. Also, you may not need a whole 8 glasses a day. 1/2 ounce per pound of body weight is plenty for most people, unless you're sweating a lot or doing super-intense workouts.

Sometimes you have to force yourself to drink water. Get a water bottle or thermos that's 32oz, maybe one that has a freezer stick so it stays cold. The more you drink, the thirstier you will feel, and the more habitual it will become.
  • I used to be the same way! I never wanted to drink (unless it was sweet tea). I hated drinking water but I started literally carrying a water bottle with me all the time and gave myself a water goal. Instead of going straight for the 8 glasses, I started just trying to get one bottle down. Now I am up to drinking about seven or eight bottles a day. I'm not tired or "hungry" all the time like I used to be. Have you tried adding Crystal Light to your water? Most of those are really good and are only five calories. I hope this helps!

Adding a little bit of lemon juice to my water helps me to drink it. :drinker:

For me water doesn't really taste like anything, good or bad, I just know that it is good and it makes me feel better (or seen another way, I feel physically bad when I don't drink enough of it), so I drink it, about 2 gallons a day.

Brain is 75% water / Moderate dehydration can cause headaches and dizziness
    Water is required for breathing
    Regulates body temperature

Feel like this should be motivation enough Not a fan of flavored water as I feel that to take the most advantage of water it should be as free of other chemicals as possible, it shouldn't about the calories, but about how well it is able to perform its role in the body.
