I have been put on a no sugar, no gluten, no dairy, no nightshade vegetables diet. No fructose, no sucrose, no wheat, rye, no nuts. I don't know what to eat, everything has sugar in it almost.

Who put you on this diet without giving you advice of what to eat?22

If a doctor gave you such a restrictive diet for some hopefully medical reason, you should be referred to an RD.
If it wasn't a doctor or RD, I would suggest you get a second opinion. I would have to be avoiding some pretty life altering medical conditions to be able to eat such a restrictive diet.
I guess meat and leafy greens?10 -
Meat. Fats (oil, lard).
Who put you on this diet, and why? Is this some kind of temporary elimination diet to check for allergies and sensitivities? Unless there's a medical reason for all these restrictions, it's not a good idea.6 -

I am being treated for sensitivities. I am being treated for Thyroid issues, bloating, cannot lose weight, puffy all over major fatigue and weakness, adrenals wonky.
I miss my tea in the morning with milk and sugar. Foods can affect your Arthritis too, which I have in all my joints.5 -
Again, who is treating you, and why haven't they given you an eating plan or referred you to a dietitian?
You may want to look at the Whole 30 protocol - you could adjust it to exclude the additional things you're avoiding (nightshades and nuts are allowed on it) but it already excludes most of your list and is a respected elimination diet.7 -
A Dr. Kiellerman in Whitby Ontario, at an advance medicine office. Thank you I will look into the Whole 30 protocol. I can eat meats ok but sick of cauliflower, broccoli and salad. I do feel better which is the only thing keeping me going on this.0

Go to the Whole 30 website - the groups on Pintrest and Facebook have bastardised it and aren't legit.1 -
Don't know if it's just me, but after googling the place this Dr. Kiellerman practices...sounds woo-ish. Naturopathic care for kids and IV stuff doesn't sound like smart medicine to me. Have you seen a family doctor about your issues? How did you come upon this center?12

Dr, K sounds like a quack. Questionable credentials. Maybe you should get a 2nd opinion? Why are you on such a restrictive diet?9
-
I would run away from this dr.4

can you eat beans, tofu, tempeh? vegan soy burgers, soy "chicken", eggs?0

I can eat meat, no beans. My family doctor just ran blood tests and never called me when some were abnormal. I found out when I received my records recently. My Endo would nothing for me but say come back in a year. I have heard many good things about him. I will see a nutritionist thank you and go to the Whole 30 website. Thanks

Registered dietician. Not a nutritionist, their education is often not nearly as solid as a dietician's. Also you can 'hear good things' about chiros and naturopaths and all sorts of pretend doctors, doesn't make them a good option. I can appreciate that good professionals are hard to find sometimes, but they're worth looking for. Don't go to a quack just because you heard good things, please.16 -

When you say "treated," to me that implies the diet is intended to be permanent (as opposed to a "cure," which reaches an end-point, or a diagnostic tool to discover which foods, if any, may be causing you problems). Am I wrong? Is there a plan to reintroduce foods one at a time and see which ones seem to have an effect on you? If not, this seems like a miserable way to live, in addition to making it difficult to get all the nutrients you need, and I can't see doing it based on an assumption that all these foods you've eliminated are problems for you. Did this "Dr. K" actually run any tests to confirm that you actually have sensitivities to multiple food groups and food types?
ETA missing word.1 -
Collards, kale, cabbage, stay away from tomatoes, cook your veggies in butter or lard and use salt n pepper. Eat fruit like pomelo, berries, green bananas and plantains. There's more just look up foods that cause the least amount of mucus and least amount of acid forming foods for your arthritis but I can pretty much tell you that you will be vegan in the end6
-
I stay on this diet for 30 days or so, until my next appointment. Then we will reintroduce things bit by bit and review my bloodwork. Thank you Blackmantls I love plantains Yes I have not had tomatoes, potatoes or rice, wheat barley, corn etc. Actually it is easier than I thought it was going to be Looking to find someone I can ask what is my best option in the area or online. I have dropped 7 pounds in a week and feel determined. Thanks again Blackmantis.

Any doctor that states 'adrenal fatigue' makes me think quack. So with your 'adrenals wonky' comment, I'm thinking quack.
Although I don't think there is anything wrong with an elimination diet to pinpoint allergies and similar, but I'd take this whole treatment thing with a grain of salt.5 -

I'd seek treatment from a better doctor. Everything about this 'wellness' center screams woo.0 -
I don't have as many problems as most with the credentials, assuming they're real. I've actually met and been treated by competent Polish trained doctors.
This does not mean that every doctor is a true professional (they should be, but it is not always the case).
However adrenal fatigue is a definite woo buzzword. Which would make me automatically question everything.
Furthermore this is in Ontario, right? If you are paying out of pocket and this is not part of your provincial medical, THAT would be an large danger flag and would urge me to walk away.
Unless things have changed a lot.. the Ontario provincial medical plan does cover most medically necessary exams and procedures.
If you are covered by your provincial medical then you would have been sent for a consult by your GP who would be getting reports and presumably would be able to offer a second opinion and a referral to a registered dietitian to explain how and what to eat and how much.
So. If no other doctors (your GP for example) are involved and you're paying out of pocket.... and adrenal fatigue... yeah... then I would personally fear you may be falling in a rabbit hole designed to suck money out of you while relying on the power of placebo effects and random chance to make you feel better.
In any case, I do hope you find the answers you're looking for. But I would urge you to look for them through conventional science based practitioners.4 -
As far as foods go, have you looked at some alternative grains/pastas? Not sure of what specific foods you have to avoid, but there are pastas made with chickpeas, lentils, peas, etc that are gluten free. Quinoa can help bulk out what you are allowed too. The diet does seem a bit extreme, and I have been on a few medically necessary restrictive diets.0

Hi, ....Doctors dont listen to women when they speak of fatigue, exhaustion, aches and pains. There are people who get blood results back and there is an optimal level in the "normal range". But the doctors get the blood work and say. "oh its fine", must be something wrong with you other than your Thyroid or adrenals. The thyroid and adrenals have a lot to do with your body. I could not get any doctor to take me on the higher end of the Normal scale as it between one number and another. Even at the top end of pre diabetes blood test, they said oh your fine.
TSH of your thyroid needs to be in an optimal range and doctors should treat the symptoms of the blood results. I have lived this for years. I put my mind to to on Tuesday last week and I have not strayed. I am proud of myself. I am dropping weight for the first time in 10 years. He will introduce it back slowly to see why the bloating and inability to drop weight. Adrenal fatigue is a life changing condition, and so is Thyroidism. It takes many doctors to realize you just dont treat the TSH. This has worked for me and I am only struggling with getting the food receipe . I have joined Whole30 and that has helped tremendously. Trying their version of spaghetti sauce today without tomatoes. Beets and Carrots !!!!! Wish me luck4 -

The below references in no way imply that you do not have a health condition that should be addressed by a legitimate doctor.
They just address the perceived standing of the person who offered you the diagnosis of "adrenal fatigue" as the explanation for your symptoms.
