How are you all planning to handle the super bowl food wise?

So, just curious how everyone is planning to eat/drink at their respective super bowl parties! I know what I *should* do — still up in the air about what I am actually going to do!

Eat the food, drink the drinks, watch the football, hate the Patriots? I've been banking calories all week and will likely have an extra 1000 or so to use that day - with a light breakfast and lunch and exercise that day - I should be able to eat pretty much whatever I want.
It's no different than my approach to Thanksgiving, Christmas or any other special event. I survey all the choices and pick the ones I really want - there are lots of things which aren't worth the calories at something like this - I don't even put those on my plate. I also make a plate, I don't mindlessly graze. And I try to bring foods that I enjoy that I can control the calories on.
I haven't started working on my menu - we are hosting a couple of families - but it will include baked chicken wings, bacon wrapped little smokies and mini pizzas - those are staples for football parties!
Bottom line - it's one day. Even if you over indulge - get back on track Monday. One day of eating salad doesn't make you thin and one day of eating super bowl food doesn't make you fat.35 -
I always have super bowls.... My standard dinner fills a serving bowl, I think that's pretty super!16

I'm making chilli in the slow cooker, and there will also be queso dip, chips, and an assortment of nibbles. I'll go easy on breakfast and lunch and will go for a run in the afternoon. Then I'll crack open the beers and cheer for the Pats. (I'm English, but I live in Boston, so I don't have much of a choice really.)9

Like many residents of Minneapolis, I will be hiding under my bed with a bottle of wine and a block of cheese hoping the Eagles’ fans don’t completely demolish the town overnight.26

Ordinarily, I'd write it off. This year, I'm basically ignoring it. Although I'll be watching the game, I won't be eating any differently.5

Don't get too hung up on sticking to your calorie allotment, but I would focus on not going ridiculously off track. So scope out diet friendly foods, such as the veggie platter, cold cuts, chili (actually not bad--full of protein and fiber) and maybe bring foods like a nice salad, diet soda and such.3

I am a "all-or-nothing" kind of gal. I can either pig out at an event like this or enjoy my Diet Coke and not eat a bite! I think you do what feels good for you and consider how you'll feel on Monday. I'm doing great right now, losing regularly so I'd feel disappointed on Monday if I undid my hard work. But, obviously, one day isn't going to ruin it completely!2

The same way I would approach any party....moderation. I will probably have a very light breakfast, very light lunch, and maybe get a long walk in with the dog if the weather permits. I do not plan on being a glutton and gobbling all the food I see - I will be selective as I am every day. I won't eat it unless I really, really like it. And I'm sure I will help myself to a lot of raw veggies (and yes, dip!)
And if I see a treat I really really want, I will have it...log it...and start out fresh back on plan the next day.1 -

Homemade pizza and maybe a little chips/dip. Just not going all out as this is a no exercise/rest day.
If it was Friday or Sat night I would do different. Hate starting a new exercise week off feeling heavy and not my best after a rest day.0 -
eat my *kitten* off...its sunday which is international cheat day plus super bowl...free day anything I want...but interestingly no cravings because I am doing this "diet nonsense" right!! Go Pats0

I found a buffalo cauliflower recipe I am going to make, and I'll bring a veggie tray!! I haven't been drinking much lately and I don't miss it so I'm hopeful that I won't even want to drink much! Oh, and I am going to cheer super loud for the PATS!!! Go PATS!!!! I also have to get my kids out the door by 7 am the next day so we will only be over our friends for the first half (which should make it easier for me to stay on track!)1

I guess it is the super bowl time? Not going to watch it or anything so it doesn't matter to me.
Have a maintenance day. One higher calorie day doesn't doom you.
Maybe bring some low calorie snacks with you.
Nibble snacks slowly.
Eat lighter the rest of the day or the day before or after.
Drink lower calorie or no calorie drinks mostly.
Get some exercise.

It'll be one of the few times (the others being in the past few weeks) that this Steelers fan has rooted for the Eagles, and it's time to fly, Eagles, fly.5 -
I will be fixing lots of food, eating most of it, drinking what I want, and watching something OTHER than football lol. Never liked sports. Love wings though so will be making a bunch. I'll pay for it all before or after or both with some extra deficit and exercise so no worries.2

anytime the Pats are in the superbowl, it's my excuse to make New England clam chowder...I don't make it very often, but I LOVE IT. My other half can take the rest to work next week, one bowl for me & I'm done...I think2

Nachos. With that amazingly awful liquid stadium cheese. I’ll be eating a light breakfast/lunch to compensate.2

I'm not a big football fan, I'm
more of a futbol fan ( World Cup). I'm still planning to go out to a sports bar. I'll eat and enjoy myself cheer on my home team- the Patriots. I have a rule, I enjoy myself on holidays without overdoing it. I'm considering the Super Bowl Sunday a holiday I'll plan ahead and walk 20,000 steps that day to create a large deficit.2 -

We aren't having a party, it'll just be my husband, daughter & I.. but we've bought a bunch of snacks! I'm currently in maintenance, so I'm not as strict as I used to be. I will enjoy all our snacks and have a fun day, then get back to it Monday.0

LOL. No (and I even double checked).
I am definitely *not* an Eagles fan. But they're the underdog, and the Patriots are bad people.
I'm hoping that my cat's trend of winning teams continues. She loves watching football, and generally, when she stays awake for most of the game, either the Steelers win, the teams with the birdies win, or the teams with the kitties win. (It was rough going during the Steelers-Ravens game, and she needed an attitude adjustment during the Jaguars.) So, fingers crossed that she a) stays awake, and b) remembers that the birdies are the better team.7 -
