going to try a new recipe tomorrow..have everything but the balsamic vinegar..

http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/2010/07/orange-honey-tilapia-slow-cooker-recipe.html

4 tilapia filets (frozen is just fine)
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon honey
1 (10-ounce) can mandarin oranges, drained
aluminum foil
salt and pepper to taste at the table

it is low fat..will have to figure out the calories manually.

a crock pot is a quilters best friend!

Sounds very good. I ran this through the calculator, and if you use No Sugar Added Oranges, you can get this down to 170 Cals per I filet serving. Even with 2 filets, you have a very low cal, delicious option. Add some grilled veggies and you'll be in heaven for under 500 calories, and hardly any fat at all.

    Thanks
  • i have never seen the no added sugar oranges..i will be sure to look for it next time i go grocery shopping! thanks for the tip!

i did buy a box of frozen tilapia at walmarts..wrapped separately ,so nice and easy to grab one or 2 pieces.
