I love rice, but I always by the box flavored rice, like uncle bens or rice a roni. Does anyone have any recipies for a healtier flavored rice??

    I just cook the rice with chicken broth instead of water. Yum! Could probably use beef broth too, but I don't keep that on hand like chicken broth/boullion.

    I boil in chicken broth instead of water. It gives rice a little bit of flavor and is quick and easy.

    I sometimes use a soup mix, like Knorrs Vegetable Soup Dry Mix. Just boil that in with the water and it makes the rice taste really good!

    I just made this last night and it was delicious!

    1 tsp olive oil - just enough to cover bottom of skillet
    2 cups minute rice brown rice
    Cook rice over medium heat, stirring occassionally until rice starts browning
    Add 1 1/2 cups water and 2 tblspns tomato boullion powder
    cover, cook on low 5 minutes
    let sit 5 minutes
