Need suggestions please!

Hey everyone. So I have been trying to lose weight for a month now and only down one and a half pounds!! I go to the gym at least 5 times a week, sometimes 6. Do cardio for 45-60min then strength training with weights. I don't eat over 1200 calories. Measure and weigh everything. I did notice my fat percentage is down 0.4% and muscle up 0.5% (water % up 0.3) but I feel like something is wrong. I started out at 244.2lbs and now 242.6. I'm 26, 5'7. I feel like I can see a difference in my face with weight loss but the scale just does not make sense to me. I eat more veggies and chicken than I ever have. I avoid fatty foods and sweets. Only drink water. Occasionally a diet soda but that's maybe once a week. I do drink coffee but I even measure my creamer. Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong!?!

    probably water weight from the increased exercise.

    keep at it and be more patient. if you're losing inches, the scales will catch up eventually.

    that being said, given your stats there is no need to eat so little. starting on 1200 cals means you have nowhere to go as you lose weight.

    1200 calories isn't much - are you hungry a lot? What you eat/drink isn't important for weightloss, it's about how many calories you take in. You have to pick correct database entries, and log everything in the exact amount you ingest.

    Exercise is good for you, but not necessary for weightloss.

    You should be able to lose 1.5 to 2 pounds per week at your current weight, but weight fluctuates naturally, so you can't always see a steady drop on the scale even if you're in an optimal calorie deficit. You need several weeks of reliable data.

    Yea I get hungry sometimes. I try to fill up on water and fruits though. I do burn around 3,000 calories a day (use my fitbit to figure that out).

    That is very true, I never thought about that. I'll eat more small meals and make them mostly protein based. Thank you! I honestly never thought about the fact that I won't be able to cut my calories anymore as time goes on.

    My first week I lost 4lbs. I was thrilled, and the following two weeks almost nothing. I think that the increased water weight due to working out is probably accurate. On my 3rd and 4th weeks, the weight is coming off again. I think our bodies need time to adjust to a new schedule (including working out). That makes sense. Also, I agree with #imformnd above me here. His comments make a lot of sense. Best of luck to you!
