I thought I was having a terrible arms day at the gym yesterday - incline bench 105 lbs which I have done twice before and it was feeling near impossible - noticed I accidentally put on two 10 lb plates instead of 5s, so it was actually 115 lbs. New PR! and also, I'm a dummy who can't do simple math.27

In THIS case, math failing is awesome. (When I hand the wrong amount of money to a cashier who looks at me in exhausted frustration, I just feel bad!)9 -

Depending on just how much money you give to the cashier next time you could also get a PR.3 -
Oh I forgot this one! My blood pressure dropped from 125/74 to 105/54. I've lost 25 lbs in almost 3 months.21

I ran a mile straight for the first time this weekend, in 11 minutes. Decided to see what my time would be for a 5K and managed to do it in less than 40 min, with a mix of walking and running. I tried to run a mile the next day but couldn't quite get there, but I'm not beating myself up over it since I know my body just needs to rest since I haven't run since middle school.31

My friend’s husband thought I was her from the back! The teeny but crazy strong friend that everyone always comments is so small and fit! He kept going up behind us when we were standing together and comparing, only to reconfirm his initial opinion and justify it to his wife (and maybe my husband), who was not amused.20

I've had a surprising amount of support from my coworkers, but it's always nice to know that they recognize what I'm trying to do and that they are backing me with it!
Isn't that funny when they do that? My co-workers are at that point. They just walk by my door and then back up and say "I brought these for everyone, but I know you won't take one so I'll just keep going." One lady always makes a point of saying she isn't leaving me out, etc...I like to tell them I don't feel left out when you respect my choices! : )12 -
Today I hit 366 day streak. Since this is my 1st anniversary on MFP, I had a look back at what I achieved in the year:
Weight: 270 lb to 198 lb (-72)
Neck: 39 cm to 35 cm (-4)
Waist: 121 cm to 95 cm (-26)
Hips: 136 cm to 113 cm (-23)
Size: tight 20W to 12
I am ecstatic about the results!! Slowly but surely this way of life works! Even when scale doesn't move or moves up (different social events), if you persevere in 80-90% of time, stay on track, exercise, the results will be there.
Now I am revved up for another successful year on MFP!
Thanks for the reminder!!! Slow and steady!!
Really great post!5 -
1. I’m here! I’ve been lurking and reading these boards for the past 9 months to keep myself engaged while I grew a baby. Now that my baby is born (healthy and beautiful) I can come back, slowly.
2. I’m not wearing any maternity clothes today! Everything is stretchy, but I’ll take it.
Congrats on the baby! I want a picture! (Only if you're comfortable sharing one, of course)
And congrats on no maternity clothes too! Woot!

I did 5 consecutive pull-ups. It’s slow progress, but I’m definitely in better shape than a few years ago (I was around 330lbs at my heaviest, now at 218lb with more muscle).21

A volunteer at work (a 90-yr-old woman) noticed my weight loss and said I had "a little heinie." No one in the history of ever has said my heinie was anything but redonkulously large, and it's been commented on over the years. I know she meant "littler-than-it-was-before," but I'm taking the win.31

I ran 2 miles without stopping today. Even on the hills.22

Deadlift PR today... 165lbs for 5 sets of 5. Feeling stronger everyday18

Just booked a trip to Alaska. When the agent asked what we were thinking about doing I was rattling off outdoor sports-kayaking, hiking, scuba diving. Before, my interests would have been along the lines of spa or shopping (although I do admit I plan on doing some of that too).22

Thank you very much Karen
The journey continues, 382 days streak, a couple of more achievements I am proud of:
1) just completed 30 day abs and butt workouts. Once we celebrate my hubby's birthday (this weekend), I still start another one. Any suggestions?
2) yesterday went to a climbing gym with my youngest kid and somehow got sucked into climbing the walls! For the first time in my life I actually climbed the wall with the rope attached to me!! The hardest thing was to trust the guy to be strong enough to hold me when I was descending from the top. Those nasty thoughts - am I still too heavy? But the guy assured me that he can hold up to 400 lb, and since these days I weight under 200 lb, I felt secure enough16 -

My most recent NSV is finding an old word-document with diary-entries of my weightloss from 3 years ago, moaning about not being able to loose weight, even though I had only eaten a "little bit of chocolate" and just "some lasagna". I have such a different appreciation of what I did wrong at the time and have definitely learned a fair deal about food.28

I walked up the 4 sets of stairs at the station today so i wouldn't miss my train and i didn't die when i got to the top!27

NSV 1: I wear contact lenses most of the time, but was slobbing around the house in my glasses the other day and noticed that now when I smile, my cheeks no longer touch the bottom of my glasses
NSV 2: Had clients coming into the office today so had to dress smart. Has been quite a few months since I had to do that and all my smart clothes are WAY too big. Settled on a blouse that used to be fairly tight a year ago, but is now quite loose and billowy, tucked into a stretchy pencil skirt to try and give me some shape. Looks like I need to go clothes shopping again!34 -

Gf said to me on Sunday that, 'you should eat breakfast as it is really bad to miss it and you won't get your metabolism going'
(I had mentioned I wasn't eating til I got to my mate's at around midday as I knew we were likely to have cake and ice cream and crisps - which we did. As I wasn't exercising, I didn't need the fuel in the morning and could save my calories for all the nice stuff later in the day)
My NSV - I said, 'oh' and carried on with what I was doing. In the past I have taken on statements like that -now, I cannot be bothered. I remember believing that stuff which helps me ignore it from others.22 -
My wife’s awe at how loose a pair of sweatpants was.18

Seeing me getting healthier motivated my man to start getting healthy too! So excited!20

Family health NSV. I may have inspired my mom to start walking! I visited my mom for Christmas and it snowed the entire time. Also, it was the first time my mom saw me after I lost 30lbs. I couldn't go outside to walk because of the freezing cold, so everyday I marched in place while watching tv to get my steps. I called my mom recently to remind her to start walking at least 30 minutes day, 5 days a week, for her cardiovascular health. She proudly stated she has been doing what I've been doing, marching in place. I was so surprised and encouraged her to keep it up. I set a goal for her to walk minimum of 180 minutes a week. Next goal is trying to convinced her to forget about that ACV diet craziness and focus more on portion control. Baby steps. One goal at a time.31

The sweater I’m wearing is now a size too big for me. When I bought it it was 4-5 sizes too small, but it’s one Beyoncé wore so I had to buy it.23
