Hi Kelli12123,
Greetings from the other side of the pond. Lovely article and great advice. Well done you! I particularly like the information on the scanning app - I hadn't noticed it before but immediately tried it out and it's fantastic - it will make tracking so much easier. I had also realised that if I stayed within my allocated amount I could factor in a cheeky pain au raisin and not go over my calories. Woo Hoo. I track my exercise to the best of my ability not having a FitBit and although I use some of the exercise calories I certainly don't use them all. I like having them in the 'bank'! I don't have much to lose but it really is one day at a time and those days add up to weeks really quickly - how much better to be on the journey, after all those days are going to go by anyway. I am now going to read part one but just had to add my 2 penn'orth as we say in England. Keep going and good luck.
ps you look fab2 -
I love the kid sized meal thing. I wouldn't have thought of doing that at the movie theater. I love it!2

Thank you so much for the nice words! It really warmed my heart to read them and it helps me stay focused! I am happy to report that I am in maintenance now and have a Part III so to speak I posted on October 8 when I reached goal-

Thanks for your journey too! I love what you said about all the days going by anyway. That is something that is so true and took me awhile to get there! In order to stay the course I always remember this. I remember when starting out I thought it takes too long-that was always my excuse but once I realized exactly what you said that time does pass regardless it helped!
You are very wise!1 -
You have no idea how impacted I am by reading your post. Your thought processes are such a mirror of mine. I swear it like I have written this myself. Thank you for taking the time to share this. I am positive that this is going to be such a spirit lifter for many readers to come because it definitely was for me.2

Oh wow - you look absolutely gorgeous. Well done you! Thinking about maintenance, I think that the key to not regaining the weight lost is to do something when you see something creep onto the scales or creep into the waistband of the skirt you recently bought. I am constantly vigilant but still have treats with the mantra that if a treat is something you have every day then it's not a treat - it's a habit! Friday at work always sees chocolate proliferating on the worktops. I take one but keep it for when I really, really want it - and that could be on Monday ........1

Thank You for taking the time to share these , yes they offer encouragement

Thank you everyone! And a big thanks to the person that recently read this post so that it became part of the newsfeed again- it helped me reflect as my journey was almost surreal. I can also validate that I still stick to what is listed here it truly is a lifestyle change and I’m here to tell everyone that once that shift truly occurs it will last - you can do it just stay the course!
Since this post I reached my goal- Sept. 2016
249lbs to 149lbs. Post found here:
https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10466302/goal-reached-down-103-pounds-size-20-to-size-6/p1#compose
I also made another post 6months later March 2017:
https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10533755/celebrating-6-months-of-maintenance-after-over-100-pounds-lost#latest
Today (Feb 2018) I am at 142 pounds.
I still weigh every Monday. I still log in daily. Maybe one day I’ll feel like I don’t have to log but for right now it keeps me focused- I think if it as no more bother than sending a text. It’s part of my lifestyle!
I share all of this not to brag but hopefully to encourage and inspire just as many many many posts on here did for me!! Feel free to send friend requests. I love my online community!
