You have the urge to masticate, but the second hand on the clock has frozen in time.
A low calorie snack would carry you through, but what do you munch on, apart from your stumpy fingernails, that won't bust the calorie bank?
Over to you.

I like the aldi wafer and caramel wafer bars available at Aldi in the UK. Come in at 99 and 134kcal and taste quite good (not so ridiculously sweat). I have one every night.4

Little packets of radishes are doing it for me right now.
16 cal per 100g6 -
When im peckish I try and avoid my old favorites which were calorie dense nuts.
These days i generally have half a pot of Skyr.
A half pot is 175g and ~100calories.
Its filling enough to kill any hunger pangs and tasty enough to be a treat.1 -
Pistachios are great. It takes some work to eat them, so you get a long-lasting snack that tastes good and has healthy fats and a little bit of protein.4

Banana

Apple

As well as some of the items mentioned above I also eat Turkey bites, Oatmeal Energy Ball, Cranberry Thinaddictives, Hummus & Cekery, Skinny POP Popcorn, Oikos Greek Yogurt, Almonds....4

Savory / salty: Pickles, sliced salted radishes, roasted seaweed.
Sweet: berries with Greek yogurt, latte with cinnamon and shaved dark chocolate
Protein: low fat cottage cheese, tuna
Carby / need something substantial: half a peanut butter sandwich on ancient grain bread, a few almonds5 -
It literally takes me an hour to work though 200 calories of pistachios. If they come already shelled and you stuff handfuls in your face, then sure, that's going to be a ton of calories. But for the amount of effort and the time it takes to lazily shell and snack through a couple of handfuls, it's a perfect snack for me. But then again, I savor my food. I don't wolf things down...16 -

That's true, but 40 pistachios is only 160 calories. 100 grams is like 3.5 servings. It would take me all night to work through all those. I wouldn't even want to eat that many at a time. I love them because the way you have to eat them slows you down so you can savor each one, not just gulp them down and then feel sad because it only took you 5 seconds to finish your snack.11 -
Not exactly healthy but a little reward at the end of the day: mini ice cream sandwich (90 calories). I gave up alcohol so it helps with the sugar craving that comes with that.5

Popcorn is my go-to snack. Air-popped plain I love. 100g is 347 calories, but 100g is a huge bowl of 10 cups. It's a perfect munch-craving buster.
Other ideas:
100g blueberries is 57 calories
100g grapes is 67 calories
100g low-fat cottage cheese is 72 calories
100g cherry tomatoes is 30 calories
100g butternut squash is 45 calories
100g of some types of jell-o are less than 100 calories
Remember that a really good snack will be a mix of protein and fat, or protein and carb to keep you satisfied for longer.7 -
Carrots 41 calories for 100 g
Hard boiled egg 155 calories for 100 g (about 2 whole eggs)
Chewy chocolate dipped peanut butter granola bar 150 calories for 30 g (1 bar) - I would not eat 3-4 bars
Raw navel orange 49 calories for 100 g (not a whole orange probably)
Dill pickle 12 calories for 100 g
Black olives 167 calories for 100 g
I usually reserve 100-300 calories for snacks. I might eat something like 1 granola bar and then carrots or some fruit. I would not actually eat exactly 100 g of every food.3 -

Yeah. 100 gm is a quarter of a pound of food, almost. That's *a lot* of nuts.4 -
Eggs! I find them a nice filling snack. If I feel peckish before bed they're my go-to.0

I toast nori sheets (the seaweed sheets for sushi) on a non-stick pan, with nothing other than a sprinkle of salt and enjoy the crunch.
Won't give you the calories per 100g as you'll never have 100g of that, it's 10 calories per sheet.5 -
hmmm .. my answer to everything is Fage Greek yogurt 0% ... 170g, 97kcal and 17g protein .. if you want it flavoured add a few drops of Stevia flavoring for a strawberry/toffee/maple/white chocolate/vanilla/ peanut butter/chocolate version

A cup of whole milk in between meals.1

Why is 100 grams so important? I can do string cheese (28 grams) for 80 calories, 17 grams of almonds is 100 calories, 16 grams of peanut butter is 90 calories, stick it on some celery for just a few calories more. The only thing I eat in 100+ gram increments for snacks are fruit, veggies, and light Greek yogurt.5

Light Cool Whip with frozen raspberries!

If I need chocolate, I tend to go with the Stauffers chocolate animal crackers.0

100 calorie mini popcorn packs (having one tonight). Cup of strawberries. One single can of Campbell’s soup. Laughing cow cheese wedge and olives. 4 Hershey kisses. One English muffin and half a slice of cheese. I could go on...I’ve gotten really good at this0
