I don't normally bother about it but gona try making pancakes on Tuesday. Wonder how that will turn out ?? Lol
Are you making some? What toppings will you be using? I'm thinking the old favourite, syrup and maybe some blueberries or chocolate, peanut butter & banana.

I had some for breakfast. I like a little oil in the pan so they get crispy and then light on the syrup. In the past I've enjoyed them with jam.0

Ah I live pancakes but dont eat em much anymore becuse of the calories and thy dont hold me long. I like normal w butter and syrup, pecans, or chocolate chips.0

Kodiak Cakes only. I use those Motts 100 calorie apple sauce cups for topping. Cutting, watching calories.0

The only pancakes, that I like're the buns; upon McDonald's McGriddle breakfast sandwiches! Otherwise I prefer french toast 1st, waffles 2nd {both with syrup, butter & powdered sugar} or English muffins with honey 3rd!0

I am assuming I will be at IHOP with my son. So it will be plain pancakes and bacon0

Shrove Tuesday, that’s a first. I’ve always referred to it as pączki Tuesday.
Yumm. Paczki!0 -

Not making pancakes but when I do I usually make a strawberry sauce.0

Ooh, thanks for the reminder.
Mine will be thin, slathered in butter, with lemon juice and sugar on top.
Then they will get rolled up, eaten as finger food, with the butter etc dripping down my arm.
Roll on Tuesday.
Cheers, h.2 -
Has anyone got any advice on how to make relatively low calorie pancakes? I see the mashed banana, oats recipes etc... but something that sticks closely to the normal flour / eggs / milk recipe?

The pancake is not a lie for some reason. Which makes me wonder is the answer button better than the negotiation?1 -

I use them as buns for a breaded chicken sandwich. For sauce I mix some table syrup and hot sauce. Kind of a different take on chicken and waffles.0

Oh my, that sounds so good. I'll probably go with this one because my kid loves them:

Do people not traditionally make pancakes on shrove Tuesday?
Shrove Tuesday or pancake day comes from the religious calendar, it's the day when you are supposed to clean out your cupboards of tempting foods in order to give them up for lent
For Christians, Shrove Tuesday marks the last day before Lent, traditionally a period of abstinence, associated with clearing your cupboards of goods such as sugar, fats and eggs. Traditionally, pancakes were eaten on this day to use up these foods before the 40-day fasting season of Lent began. Some believe the four ingredients used in pancakes may actually represent the four pillars of the Christian faith - flour as ‘the staff of life’, eggs as ‘creation’, milk as ‘purity’ and salt as ‘wholesomeness’.
Although the day is important in Christian tradition, Pancake Day is widely celebrated by those outside of the faith.
Me, I just like pancakes done very thinly like crepes with oranges squeezed over and sprinkled with sugar......reminds me of when I was young and my mum used to keep em coming till we were fit to burst!!1 -
