When oven cooked according to instructions - calories question

I tend to see this quite often when looking at the calories on the back of frozen food packages. Here's an example:
Does this mean 100g of cooked wedges contains that amount of calories, or 100g of frozen wedges cooked according to instructions?

I think after cooked. They weigh more when frozen and I know 100g of cooked french fries when baked are like 150 calories when baked so that sounds more accurate!0

I thought that too, until I came across the packet above. It says 1/6 of a pack is 173cals and that's 125g, but a full pack is 750g frozen. So are they using the cooked weight on the first column and frozen on the second? Very confusing.0 -
If it's a 750gm packet, then I would read that as frozen weight. 125gms is 173 cals (1 of 6 servings of 125gms) then 1gm is equal to 1.384, 138cals for 100gms frozen weight. Added to that, how would you know how many to cook, if you only weigh them afterwards.

If you do the math, if 100g is 138 Calories, then 125g is 173 Calories. There is no discrepency. They are using the same state for both sets of values. But 1/6th of the package is pretty telling. If 125g is 1/6th of the total package weight (750g?) when frozen, all of the clues fit. They are weighing frozen.2 -
They should really state "100g frozen" or "100g cooked" like McCain's chips do. The "oven baked according to instructions" is quite misleading and I'm sure there are many undercounting calories because of this.0

Unless the weight doesn't change after cooking. Which happens sometimes.0

I think "oven baked according to instructions" means that they are not including calories from fat if you decide to pan fry them or deep-fry them.2 -
Looking at the values and the package size the calories are the same for 100g and 125g and the product should be weighed before cooking and then cooked in the oven exactly as per instructions (i.e you don't get to deep fry it and wonder why the calories increased).1

This label is incredibly confusing. It says "as consumed", so you'd assume it's the cooked weight. Then it has the portion size next to it and says 1/6 of a 750g frozen pack, which is 209 calories per 125g. This works out at exactly 167 calories per 100g. So how can it be both?

It is both. Your 'recommended' portion is 1/6 of a frozen pack or 125g. Because you are a poor human unable to convert portions of 125g into the 200g "real world" portion you consumed, the package lists the value in 100g increments which you can more easily multiply and manipulate to make your calculation.1
