I’m new at all this dieting thing but every time I do diet and drink PLENTY of water I always get constipated! Anyone else have this problem and how can I prevent it! Sorry for the TMI!!!

Do you cut your fats too low when you diet? Do you increase your fiber quickly when you start? Do you introduce any new foods that have sugar alcohols in them and if so do they cause you problems?
Those are 3 things off the top of my head that could cause problems. There are probably others. It's not a lot of information to work with.0 -
I am just trying to eat right. No Alcohol at the moment. Just trying to eat healthy! But it must be something I’m doing to much or not enough of! I just know I’m drinking an awful lot of water to be constipated!0

You didn't answer @diannethegeek's question...Lowfat, high fiber can cause this.
So did you cut back on cheese, butter, oils, full fat dairy, beef, salad dressing, that kind of thing? Did you increase vegetables and grains?0 -
You can track fiber on your food diary, also the food diary tells you how much fat to intake. That fat goal is a minimum GOAL to hit. Not go under.0

Because you're emphasizing the water, I just want to be sure you know that constipation doesn't mean not urinating, it means not having a bowel movement?
Assuming we're actually talking about constipation, water isn't the only thing that matters.
What about these?diannethegeek wrote: »Do you cut your fats too low when you diet? Do you increase your fiber quickly when you start? Do you introduce any new foods that have sugar alcohols in them and if so do they cause you problems?

Also, have you cut food intake overall drastically? If there's less going in, there's going to be less coming out.1
