I hate my legs. They are super muscular and my calves are huge. I actively built them in high school when I was a runner and started out of blocks, but that was 20 plus years ago. I can’t wear most boots that cover the calves because they don’t fit, and it’s super frustrating and embarrassing to try them on. I love how my arms and abs look, but these legs! My husband says they look beastly, which as a female is not my goal.
Can I do anything about this? Or is this something I should just chalk up to, suck it up, a lot of people would love to have your problems?
Suck it up lol
For the issues with the boots there are plenty of places online that do boots for wide calves. I have a wide foot and wide calves but have gotten some great ones from a plus size catalogue that have them in multiple widths for feet and calves.1 -

It is probably just how you are built.
I'm not sure if the advice in this article is crappy or not but you could try and see if it changes anything.

Accept your body as it is. Wear lower boots or buy boots made for wider calves.

Is your perception of your calves being unusually large accurate?

Sooo ... I measured them. 15”. See, beastly!!
I can find boots that fit — I have a really cute pair of sorels that lace up, and so forth — but it feels weird when I’m trying on shoes and the person beside me, with a good 100 lbs on me, gets them on easily and I can’t. I get that this is genetic, and I get that there are worse problems. I don’t really think I have BDD.
My husband does like my legs. He’s like a stick figure and we are both jealous of each other!
Anyway, thanks for the help. Sorry to have ditched the thread for a little while — life got busy!0 -

Thanks mine are 17"3 -
I think you just have to get used to it. I feel your pain. While I'm not self conscious about my calves and I think they look fine on me, I can't buy boots, either. I did buy one pair, one time, but they were so tight as to be uncomfortable to wear all day. So I just buy booties instead.
For the record, I'm 5'5" and my calves are 17.5 inches.0
