I want to lose 1.5 lbs. per week. What should the percentages be for carbs, fat and proteins?

Calorie deficit matters for weight loss. What are you stats (height, weight, age, activity level)? Plug those into MFP and eat to the number it gives you if the goal is appropriate. Arrange your macros in whatever way helps you stay satiated.7

A lot of people do very well with the keto diet, but it's not for everyone and it's not required for weight loss.12 -

Not everyone finds that works for them, fwiw. And 'just keep your carbs low' doesn't guarantee weight loss.6 -
@MichelleSilverleaf i was commenting my experience, i belive it doesn't hurt to try and find out i also tried various diets that had no effect on me, and this is the first 1 that is working4

@diannethegeek it actually is, other than plenty health benefits. I read a lot and my nutricionist explained it really good. But then again, it may not work for everyone9

On the thought of reduced carbs = weight loss, it just doesn't work. You ate in a deficit, that's how you dropped weight. Whatever you personally cut out in order to keep your carbs down is what contributed to that, but it's very possible to have such low carbs and not lose weight. It depends on how much of what you're eating, not how high or low your carbs are.7 -

"It actually is" what? What part of my short post are you referring to? It's not required for everyone to use keto to lose weight. I lost 55 pounds without cutting my carbs low. It is also not for everyone. There are certain medical issues it would be problematic for and others, like myself, have other issues on it. That you prefer it doesn't make it the right or necessary choice for everyone. People should feel free to play around and see what kind of macro split they feel best on instead of being told they have to cut their carbs low.11 -

I think having your daily calorie goal at 800 and not always meeting that is the reason you are losing, not because you set your carb intake low.
You are eating a dangerously low amount of calories. The minimum suggested for women is 1200 and that's too low for most women. If you are really eating so few calories I really hope you are under a doctor's supervision.10 -
@RAinWA that's a new thing, even i can't believe it . I even try to eat more but i can't. Of course if i start feeling bad i'll cut it but i'm totally good for now ^^9

Then why are you doing it? You have to know it is not good for your health.
Odd - your post was cut off but when I quoted it I got the rest.
And by the time you start to feel bad that damage is already done. Come back and tell us you are still "totally good" when your hair starts falling out.3 -

When you start to feel bad, it's too late and the damage is done. It may take a long time to resolve.
Eat more. I don't think feeling full on 800cals is normal.6 -
@diannethegeek about that it isn't for weight loss. But as i already said- not for everyone. Your way is the safest ofc. but i like things a bit faster, no matter a little struggle9

Keto/low carb isn't necessary for weight loss, nor is it guarantee that you'll lose weight. You can easily eat too much as fat is so calorie dense...3 -
@livingleanlivingclean it's not an everyday thing, i believe no1 could live constantly like that i just don't want to eat when i really can't. I'm concentrated on healthy eating,i don't mind amount of food5

You might not mind the amount of food, but your body does...5 -
I want to lose 1.5 lbs. per week. What should the percentages be for carbs, fat and proteins?
As was said upthread, calories are what matter for weight loss. For macros, I treat proteins and fats as minimums to get every day (at least .6-.8 g protein per pound of body weight and at least .3-.4 g of fat per pound) and I fill in the rest of my calories with whatever I want, including carbs. Anything beyond that should be determined by you. As you go, you can pay attention to what kinds of foods and macros make you feel best and adjust as you need to.3 -

She did not say she was going to do a keto diet plan. Some of us mfp folks don't do well on low carb type diets. You don't have to drastically cut down on carbs to lose weight.7 -
@livingleanlivingclean i've never experienced negative effect of eating large amout of lettuce, zucchini or cucumber for ex. which are my favourite. And i believe my body loves it too. As long as there are no fast food i'm all good10

You made it sound like cutting carbs way down, one can lose weight. There are more ways than to lose weight.1 -
@1houndgal i just wrote my experience, like everyone else is writing "what's the best" but i think every person individually must find whats best for him besides ofc eating less and optionally putting a little workout in4

You told her right off the bat to cut her carb intake down. I get you are excited to be losing weight and want to share it but... you have only been doing this Keto plan a couple of weeks.
Why suggest to a new member right off the bat to almost completely wipe out a whole macro group from her daily diet based on your limited recent experience?

You'll feel good - until you don't. And like others said, by then it's too late. Brittle nails, hair falling out, damage to internal organs, some damage is going to be irreversible. Not to mention the fact that severely undereating is just going to cause you to put all the weight back on when you reach your goal, since you're not learning anything about proper meals and nutrition. And you'll have a really poor amount of muscle mass when you're done, and have a lot harder time re-building it than if you'd thought to preserve it in the first place. That's not a matter of opinion, that's what's going to happen if you do this too long.4 -

To get your thread back on track..
Calories determine weight loss.
Macros can help satiety and some fitness goals, and there are minimums required for good health.
The thing with satiety is different things work for different people. So start with the MFP defaults and start making notes on days you hit your calorie goal easily and days you struggled with hunger. After a couple of weeks, look at how your macros looked on those days and see if you notice a pattern, then tweak from there. Some people do perfectly fine on the default macros.
So focus on the calories and look at macros as a guideline and something to pay more attn to if you need to :drinker:3 -

So if you think everyone has to find what's best for them individually, why didn't you say that rather than telling the OP they have to do low carb?3
