1lb a week is a healthy weight loss do you weigh and log everything you eat/drink what is your calorie goal4
-
4lbs sounds like a good rate of loss to me.... You are you, you are not your friends..
Depending on how much you have to lose, you could potentially lose at a faster rate. Fast doesn't necessarily mean better though.6 -
Yes i log it ok im hoping if i keep going i will loose within 2 months.1
-
How fast you can lose, depends on how much you have to lose, how carefully you have set your calorie target, and how faithfully you are sticking to it. Exercise isn't that important for weightloss, and clean eating can mean so many things that it practically means nothing, it just adds confusion and guilt to the simple, innocent and delightful act of eating.5

Slow and steady wins the race, you do you and forget about everyone else!5

If you want to lose faster you can create a larger deficit. It should never be a mystery why you lost X amount of weight. It's math.
To lose 1 lb per week you have to create a deficit of 3,500 calories per week.. that's just 500 calories less than maintenance per day. If your maintenance calories are 2,000, that means you've been eating a net 1,500 calories per day. Use the MFP goals, log your calories, log your exercise, and it won't be a mystery.3 -
Im now 62.7kg i want to get to 55.2kg i have finally lost 1 pound within just over two weeks as i stayed at 63 for about 1 month and 2 weeks just seem to be taking so long, and i seem to loose motivation im hoping by summer il be bafk to normal what does people think i can be back to 55.2 by summer? Im still doing treadmill and eating clean x0
-
I don't think you can realistically weigh 55.2 by summer this year. Because your rate of loss will only decrease as you lose weight. What does normal mean? How old were you last time you effortlessly maintained that weight? Exercise and eating clean still won't make much difference.2
-
Normal back to what i was 55.2 last july i was 55 2kg and i gained thid weight end of august last year suddenly i put on stone anf a half? Why wont excercise and eating clean wont make a difference how else are u supposed to loosr weight?2
-
1lb a week is good going, well done. Forget about what others are doing, you do you. Keep going0

Im 23 and i did eat a bit of rubbish last year0
-
Ok, that means you'll probably be able to go back to that weight, but not in a couple of months. The easiest is to just limit the amount of "rubbish", which you will have to do for the rest of your life anyway, if you want to stay that weight - that's why we're harping on patience.3
-
So when u say not couple of months you mean more like a year0
-
You gained 21lbs so realistically it will be 1lb a week and even 0.5lb a week when it gets to the last few pounds so it will take the best part of 6 months to lose but the good news is that is a relatively short period of time in the grand scheme of things.2
-
Okay thanks1
-
I agree to the above - half a year sounds realistic.2
-
Ok thankyou0

It can help to make your diary public if you want advice with what you are eating and if you are logging your exercise. Are you eating back your exercise-earned calories?0
-
So i have made my diary public yes can u see what i have had? If you look on yesterday and today0
-
With the breakfast im havig bowl of fruit so apple, couple of strawberries and raspberries0
-
I took a look at your diary and went all the way back to January 31 and I only saw two days that were completely logged. So you don't actually know how much you're eating. I also suspect that you're not weighing/measuring everything you eat since you have things like '1 chicken breast' logged. How big was that chicken breast? Did you use any kind of oil or anything to cook it in?
Clean eating is a fairly meaningless term as everyone's definition of it is different. You can still gain weight eating 'clean' if you eat too many calories. Losing weight strictly comes down to having fewer calories going in than going out. For health/nutrition/feeling good purposes though, it is good to eat a nice, balanced variety of food.8 -
I lose weight slowly too. Honestly track everything you put into you mouth, measure and weight your food, at least in the beginning, till you can eyeball it. Use measuring cups, spoons, and a kitchen scale( the little ones are about $5). For me, water retention was a real problem, make sure you are drinking at least 8 cups of plain water a day, and really watch your salt intake. That being said-you have lost 4 pounds, to appreciate that, carry a 4 pounds bag of potatoes when you do your treadmill. When you put it down, realize, that your body does not have to carry that exact weight around all day long, pat yourself in the back! it is a good accomplishment! losing weight is hard, and you are doing it2

No im not really hungry0
-
Good. Keep on doing what you're doing. It's slow, but you'll get there.0
-
Do u think im eating wrong stuff?0
-
Not wrong stuff, but in less than optimal porportions, imo. I would, for instance, spread the fruit out through the day instead of having three portions for breakfast, and have some starch with my dinner (like you did in January) - but that is unimportant, what's important, is that you can and will stick to a calorie deficit. Humans are resilient, and we can thrive on lots of different diets.3
