I have been swimming for almost 9 years but i haven't got a shape that i want. I swim once a week 2-4 hour. And now i try to do hiit cardio once in two days. I also manage calories intake. What's wrong?

Calorie deficit is good for weight loss. I'm not sure what "managing your calorie intake" means to you - are you in a calorie deficit? How do you determine how much you're eating?

Exercise is good for health and fitness.

What strokes do you swim? Do you swim drills and vary your sessions with different intensities? I found taking some lessons and training with my local triathlon club really helped take swimming from a leisurely relaxing activity (also a good thing!) to a proper full-on workout. I'm still not fast but I know I'm now making the most of my favourite exercise. As with any exercise, it will burn fat if you are watching your food and exercising hard enough.

You can't out-exercise a bad diet. If you're not losing weight, you're eating too many calories, simple as that.

Great for cardio and any calorie burn is good, I have read that swimmers tend to retain a little more fat because you're in the cold and the body doesn't want to burn as much. This could be a myth but as someone who swam competitively for years and never got down to a "normal" bmi, there may be some merit
  • if my lungs allow, i would be swimming laps for an hour or so. it's resistance training and build muscles. I think its best to combine cardio with swimming to achieve the desire results
