Rise above it. It is easier said than done. I am a nurse and several years ago, a patient called "two-ton Kelly", not to my face, but to my CNA. It was very hurtful and I did confront him on it and he apologized. Here is a quote, "What defines us is how we rise after falling."

If it makes you feel better "gorda" isn't really meant as an insult in Spanish. It can be a term of endearment. Its just not meant the same way as "fatty" in English.
Did she say 'gorda' or something else like 'pansona' (sp? not sure if it's s or z or even right at all) But people are ignorant and think that a lot of people don't know spanish and just say things that they wouldn't normally say if they knew that people understood. Ignorance.

:flowerforyou: You deserve better. I am sorry you had to go through something like that, it isn't right. You know that you are beautiful, you know that you are strong and you can get through this!

Oh wait...yep...that's what used to be and still is a good saying...

If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all.

Always have to be the bigger person, ya? :flowerforyou:

    Gawd I hate that. :grumble:
