Hey, I just got back on this app after a little hiatus. I had knee surgery 10 months ago and I gained a lot of weight while I was out of work. I’m a firefighter and I’m trying to get back in shape because my job demands it. I’ve lost over 20 lbs so far but I need help eating healthy.
Looking to make some new friends on here to keep me on track! Any help and motivation is appreciated!

Hi Tyler! My dad is a retired firefighter and I know how in shape you guys/gals have to be. He recently started a low carb/high fat diet (keto) and has lost a lot of weight and can run farther than he's ever been able to before (he's in his 60s). He's gotten off a lot of medication too just by cutting out a lot of carbs and sugars. I figured if an old man like him can do it I can to! Lol1

Hey! That’s great. I’ve heard people say that that diet works miracles but I’ve also heard that it’s not good for you lol. I never know what to do when it comes to diet. I am trying to eat as low carb as possible but it’s hard. It’s amazing how many health problems are directly from the type of food we eat!

You need a balanced and varied diet. You can eat anything you like in moderation.1 -
Well that makes perfect sense, thank you! Everything in moderation. I don’t think I could survive without some carbs lol1
