Hi, so I have lost 40 lbs since August.but now I'm stuck. I can't seem to break below 169-- but I haven't gained either been this way about 3 weeks. Everyone says I need to eat more, so I've been trying. I have been eating about 1300-1400 a day. Ok doing the high protein low sugar do is hard to find things that won't max me out on sugar. Anyone have any ideas?

How are you measuring your calorie intake? Eating more is not the answer if you aren’t losing.5

Is "starvation mode" a myth then? I hear if you go to low your body preserves it's fat.0

Yes it’s a myth2 -
Yesterday I burned 2527 calories and are 1400 so how am I not losing? Do now I'm not supposed to eat more?0

How are you measuring those 1400 calories? On a food scale? In measuring cups? Eyeballing portions? If you aren’t losing, its most likely because you’re eating more than you think.2 -

I didn't see an answer to the food scale question, OP.
Check out this thread. It shows why a food scale is so helpful to weight loss.

Are you absolutely on point with weighing/logging? How long have you been in a calorie deficit? Have you ever taken a diet break during your weight loss?

Eating more is not the answer. Understanding what a plateau is will help you break through it.

Ask anyone who has starved to death or near death. There is a preferred order your body has for utilizing tissues for energy when food consumption is too low... sometimes it uses a combination of tissues, not just one.
Starvation mode is totally bull.1 -
Yes I log my food I use the scanning method. Yes I use the scales. No I have not taken a break from the"diet" it's not really a"diet". I'm just trying to teach myself how to eat healthier. I was never taught to eat or be healthy.it was eat what and how much you want.2

Weigh everything you scan. Pre-portioned food is often not exact to the label (think cheese slices, bread slices, etc).0 -
Do you mind opening your diary? We can easier spot some other logging errors that way.2

She is correct, and food labels can underestimate by 20%. If I were you I'd invest in a food scale. I also doubt your burning 4,000 calories a day how are you tracking this?0 -
fitbit is notoriously wrong, I've had to disconnect mine from MFP because it was giving me so many calories back.0

I burned 2507 yesterday not 40000

hi, i would suggest increasing your fat a bit. that's where you should be looking for your additional calories instead of from sugar. it's easy to add fat by adding heavy cream or MCT oil to your coffee, adding butter to your meats and veg add an egg to each meal......any fat as long as its a natural fat. some people who low carb as you are...find that cheese suddenly stalls them. if you are eating cheese...try cutting it out for a couple weeks to see if that makes any difference.4
-
Just my n=1 experience, but whenever I've stalled/gained/plateaued it's because i became lax in my logging and weighing of food. I'd eat stuff here and there during the day and not bother logging it, or guesstimated serving sizes/weight etc etc Little omissions here and there which may seem trivial at the time, add up over the long term.
Try really tightening up your logging, weigh every single thing packaged and fresh and see how you go. Remember just because a food says it weighs X grams on the package doesnt mean it is perfectly accurate. Bread for example is something I always weigh, because the majority of the slices in the pack weigh more than what is stated on the label.5
