I can walk my dog without running out of breath and bend over to cut my toenail without getting the breath taken out of me.3
-
Being able to run up escalators to get that train!2
-
Boundless energy2
-
I only lost 20 something pounds but I have more energy. I used to have to take naps during the day. Now I go to bed at 8:30 or 9 because I am exhausted from exercise and get up at 5 am. No more naps.6

My blood pressure is in the normal range. My cholesterol has dropped. I no longer have that saggy puffy thing on the inside of my knees. My flexibility has improved.4

seriously loads and I have only dropped 18kg, I was only marginally overweight -
(1) nothing aches or twinges when I get up, sit down, walk down steep hills etc
(2) no longer get any acid reflux no matter what I eat or drink
(3) hills on the bike are a LOT easier or faster
(4) Sleep - loads better, solid sleep
(5) more comfortable when driving a car, nothing digs in like belts, seatbelts, trousers etc
(6) no lethargy after eating
(7) immune system rocks now ... I have had 2 colds in the last 2 years and I have a 6 year old tht brings everything home
(8) ease of getting up off the floor
(9) one legged pistol squats
(10) if I carry a rucksack and two massive bags of shopping back from the shop ... I only weigh the same as I did a year ago, so its effortless
(11) daily tasks are just tht much easier, from doing shoelaces up to putting stuff away in cupboards
The downsides
(1) Its cold outside ... I never got cold before
(2) I now need to try on clothes. I am sometimes a S sometimes a M some times a L ... I used to just be L or XL8 -
Energy! No more sluggishness! No more knee pain! No more back pain! Walk taller! No more sugar crashes!
There’s a lovely thread in “Success Stories”. It has about 25 thousand comments regarding non scale victories. I looooove going there when I need a little motivation.3 -
I fit comfortably into seats at the train, cinema etc
When the train is packed I can sit in the luggage rack without anything breaking
I can walk the mile and a half uphill to campus without straining my dodgy achilles
My dodgy achilles has become a lot less dodgy
Clothes are easier to find and cheaper (except for bras, sigh)
I can sit in more comfortable positions, such as legs crossed
People respond to me more positively3 -
I'm 150+lb down (more to go)
At my biggest I had to use a stick just to walk the length of a room. Now I can hike miles
I hike with my baby on my back, a baby I was told I could never have due to infertility, losing weight made his life possible
I can wear clothes I actually like instead of just what fits over me
I can run round the park after my boy, I even got on a slide at soft play with a friend's little boy (the guy wouldn't let me go down the slide since I was wearing a dress with nothing under)
Which is great since I no longer have to wear chub rub shorts at all times
If I enter the bus or cinema people no longer put bags on chairs next to them to stop me sitting close to them
I can place an order in a restaurant or fast food place without people sneering at my choice
Adult time is now a whole lot more fun, who knew recliners could take the weight of two people15 -
Oh yeah, acid reflux gone!!1
-
I can run with the kids I work with instead of just standing around and watching them play, I can lift 40+ pound kids without feeling like I'm going to injure something, and it's getting easier to lift kids out of cribs the more I lose from my chest.1

Love this thread!
I can buy clothes in any store now instead of just the fat lady store.
I can walk without my feet killing me.
I am no longer diabetic.
My blood pressure is normal.
I'm off all blood pressure/diabetic/acid reflux/water pill meds
I look forward to getting dressed up.
I can wear a dress without worrying about getting a rash between my thighs.
I can sleep on my back without feeling like I'm suffocating.
I don't feel like I'm using up more than my share of space (trains, busses and elevators)
I don't need a seatbelt extension on airplanes anymore.
I could go on............8 -

Weight loss alone has had minimal impact to my day-to-day life except I'm more comfortable with my appearance in general. It's actually harder to find clothes in my size now because I've dropped off the bottom of the 'normal' size range.
However, I didn't lose weight to improve my day-to-day life. I did it to improve my life long-term and prevent future health problems. Also, if we talk about how exercise has improved my day-to-day life, I'd have more to say!0 -
It's easier to find flattering clothes.0

I mean, females are attracted to me now. I prefer what I see in the mirror now. And I get the therapy of the gym everyday. Other than that, not much difference.0
