Last year I was 296 in January...possibly higher in December and just got to where I thought if I didn't change my ways pretty quickly I wouldn't have a dad bod...but a dead bod.
Thanks to MFP, and getting organized and watching the people here actually lose their weight I got serious about getting healthier and lost 74 lbs in one year. Really with a goal of being more of a dad bod, but just healthier...more energy and able to do active stuff with my kids in my 40s.
Now I feel at least like I can go to the YMCA and swim and not feel like I dont belong there...or to the beach. But that is an awful feeling to have and silly. Nobody gives a *kitten* anyway, however you look...they are chasing their own kids around...and all you end up doing is missing out on being at the pool and doing stuff you would like to do.
And I was able to get back into sports! Idk dad bod definition..but my feeling is whatever lets you get off the couch and have energy to do the vacations, chop up your tree that fell in your yard or something...just not being and feeling trapped and sedentary which is how I felt for years.
Lol, there's one with the same shirt as before...dad look complete with my kids miralax on the counter.
I'm pretty happy where I'm at now but want to keep leaning out slower the rest of this year, then switch to strength focus.
Get from mid 220s down to 205.
I’m so happy for you! You look amazing.7 -
