A handful, one that you can pretty much close your fingers around, is about one portion. It's like 17 almonds. It's not really a lot to eat if you ask me, so when I do have nuts I pair them with a really volumous veggie.
Walnuts, which I eat, are harder to count since there are pieces, so I measure out 1/4 of a cup, which is 200 calories. It's a tiny bit if you ask me, but I always over serve myself if I don't measure!
You can up the flavor a bit by lightly toasting them in a dry pan for a few minutes.0 -
This question is impossible to answer without knowing what your daily macro and calorie requirements are.
How can an arbitrary measure of almonds be healthy or unhealthy when we don't have the complete picture of your daily calorie intake?0 -

I understand what you mean in your post that the "healthy portion" is subjective to her unique requirements, but my response was going from the idea that eating a whole can(or half a can or whatever) is NOT a healthy portion. Awareness of portion size is a healthy start to a life-change of healthy nutrition.0 -
I usually have 3-4 servings of 13 almonds in a day. But like proats says, its about how much fat protein and carbs ur allowed in a day because thats what almonds consist of0
