I need some help with staying on track with my macros and other nutrients! I don't know how to "count" them, other than tracking them in this app, but if I do that, then I've already eaten it! Lmao I'm so new to this and very confused with how to do all these things to get in shape!

Don't worry about the macros for now, get the calories sorted. I only worry about the protein and staying within my calories.

I enter breakfast and lunch as soon as I get to work. Then I only need to worry about supper. I also mainly look only at calories and protein.

Many of us log what we plan to eat. That way, you can play with the macros before you put the food in your mouth.

I always add my evening snack when I enter my breakfast so that I leave room for it as I add other foods throughout the day.

That's what I do. I try to take a few minutes in the morning and think about what my day will be like. I log the foods I think I'll eat based on what I have in the house, schedule, what sounds good at the time, etc etc. I add and remove foods as necessary until I get a plan for the day that I like and that meets my cals and macro needs. That gives me my plan for the day... all I have to do is follow it (sometimes easier said than done).

So I shouldn't worry about every nutrient on the chart thing? I've been anxious about being over recommended for a few things hahaha. I hope it's not a big deal!

Assuming no health/medical issues, then I would worry about overall cals first. Once you get a good handle on total cals, then I'd focus on cals + macros (carbs, protein, fat). Once you get a good handle on that, then you can worry about cals + macros + micros (all the other things).

Okay, awesome! I have no health or medical issues, so this makes it so much easier! Hahaha, I've been thinking that I have to worry about everything right off the bat! Hahaha. I've never tracked my diet before, so it's all very new to me!

Not at all. Start with the most basic (calories), then go from there.

Focus on calories first...start with the basics. Your nutrition will evolve over time.

The hardest thing on keto is to eat enough fat and not go too much over protein. Did you use a keto calculator? My macros are 75% fat 20 % protein and 5% carbs.
Everyone is saying worry about calories and they are right in a way. If you stay in a calorie deficit, you should lose weight but it does matter where those calories come from on Keto.
I get a lot of great information from ruled.me website. It helps to drink a Keto proof coffee or eat a fat bomb to get those fat grams in.
Also I have some easy recipes that all start with "clips" as in clips scallopini sauce. I only list ingredients no instructions.
I get most of my carbs from non starchy vegetables. A few will be in cream or cheese and the very occasional keto sweet treat. Tons of recipes on Pinterest.

Unless you have a medical reason to limit protein... "going over" on protein isn't a bad thing at all.

I do the same as my breakfast and lunches don't vary a lot (although I will go out once a week or so for lunch). If I know what I'm having for dinner, I will pre-log as well. Mostly so I know if I can have a snack or not mid-morning.

How do you find out your total protein, card, fats percentage at the end of the day?
