My own worst enemy!

Hi! About a year ago, I was doing weight watchers point plus at home. I had done it before(meetings) and have all the tools and didn’t want to pay to go, so decided to do it myself at home.

I lost 35lbs pretty quickly and was feeling so good. I kept it off for the year, until Christmastime came. I have gained about 10 lbs after the holidays and can’t get back into the habit.

I will do good during the week and as soon as the weekend comes and my husband and kids are all home, I become self-destructive. I tell myself it’s the weekend, and I should enjoy eating what I want, but I gain back all the pounds I lost during the week.

I feel like I don’t have the strength to be disciplined anymore and I am just feeling down about it.

Can anyone give me some tips or advice! Thanks.

I eat pretty crazy every weekend. I changed my weigh in until Friday so i have time to shed some of the weekend weight before the next Friday. Been losing pretty consistantly

    Welcome to MFP!

Log every bite for starts. Just do that. It's information. You don't have to do everything perfectly to lose weight, just "good enough" - and logging accurately will help you see what "good enough" has to look like to support your goals.

When the pain of feeling down about it exceeds the pain of making consistent choices to support your goals, you WILL have the strength. Ask yourself how much more you want to regain before that happens.

Best of luck and friend me if you like -

Thank you both! I need to write how bad I feel when I make poor choices, so I can read and remember before taking that first bite that will undo my whole day!

If this stuff was easy, there would not be a site for calorie-counting weight loss

Hey, you are here so start logging!

Breaking the " It is the weekend I deserve it" and going off the rails is a pretty common problem. Some comes down to committing to limits whether or not it is the weekend. It is finding alternatives. It is saying "yea weekend, I deserve to care for myself in healthy ways."

What is the family doing on weekends? We tend to go to the park, often taking a picnic with us. This means the food is preplanned and the physical activity is the purpose for being there. Sometimes we go cycling or kayaking or...

Today, we worked on learning a line dance together. Even if the kids are resistant, if everyone is just hanging out, you could make it known that you are going to your corner to dance and anyone is welcome to join you. Better yet, take over the main TV room and if they don't want to join you, they have to get up and go somewhere else.
