Not sure what you want us to tell you - your post is titled: drink water for weight? ? what are you asking? water wont help you lose weight but it can help you feel fuller and maybe take your mind off food.
You wont have gained 16lbs in 5 days, that would take a HUGE amount of eating ie 56000 calories over and above your normal 5 days so get things in perspective ok.
Why are you stuffing your face? You have to stop this so work out the reason for the why and work on that.6 -
Over-hydration is extremely unpleasant and potentially deadly. Please be careful.3

When you gain a lot of weight in a short period of time it's normally down to water retention, if you've been eating a lot of food that is different to your normal diet then you have probably had more sodium and carbs than normal which will cause "water weight" this is you body just trying to adjust to what you've been putting into it to make sure that it is sufficiently hydrated, it's not a bad thing.
The reason people say that water will help with water weight is because your body no longer thinks it has to hold onto the water to keep you hydrated.
Of the 16lbs you've gained only a couple are likely to be fat as @LivingtheLeanDream has explained above. It can take anything from a couple of days to a couple of weeks for water weight to shift.2 -

Wow. That is one long sentence....
Unless you have a medical condition, the concern over water weight (for most people) is misplaced. There is no dire need to lose something your body retains for reasons it needs it.
The reason to drink water is to be hydrated. Period. If you want to lose fat, work on eating at a deficit....and understand that water weight fluctuates, whether you are losing, gaining, or maintaining. It will frustrate you because it masks fat loss (or gain), but it's not a big deal (unless again if you have a aedema or other medical issues with it).3 -
@LivingtheLeanDream it’s actaully titled drink water for water weight. I was asking does drinking more water get rid of water weight because a lot of people tell me it does3

I think of it more as retaining water. When I do not drink enough water, my body holds on to it. When I begin to drink a lot more water, yes I pee a lot, but it is flushing through the system like a constant stream ... which in my mind is a good thing.
Once you begin to drink more water, you will need the bathroom more ... but for me, that is only in the beginning and my bladder becomes used to it.

That's what people say but I've tried both, and have found the water weight goes in a few days regardless of water drinking or not.
ps I mustn't have read the title properly earlier, probably needed a coffee lol1 -
Run on sentences hurt my head6
