I’m not sure if anyone on here has a fit bit but if you do can you tell me why I wake up without it on or anything and it already says I’ve burned a couple hundred calories???

    I do not wear it while sleeping, that’s why I don’t understand

    Your body is burning calories operating your heart, lungs, digestive system, brain...

    When you created a Fitbit account, you provided your stats (gender, age, height, weight). From that data, Fitbit calculated an estimate of your BMR (basal metabolic rate) for the day.

    I am male, 56, 5'8", 150lbs. My BMR is about 1490 Cals per day. Dividing my BMR into 24 hour chunks, it is 62Cals/hr. If I wake up at 8:00 am, my burn from midnight to 8am is 62Cals/hr x 8 hrs = 496Cals.

    That is why your Fitbit account and device shows you burned Calories while you were sleeping, even when you are not wearing it. When I start moving with my Fitbit on, I burn above 62Cals/hr. The more I move, the more Cals from moving are added to the Cals from my BMR.
