Phantom gut syndrome

Like phantom limb syndrome where people can still feel an arm or leg that is removed. I got a little bloated and I was putting my hand on my stomach and it actually startled me for a second; where I felt my stomach distending to there was actually nothing but air because it doesn't stick out anymore. Anyone else ever had that?

I know when i first lost weight I kept overestimating the amount of space I'd need to move, for example, between tables/chairs.. or the size of jeans I'd fit into - I'd pick up stuff and think "this is gonna be way too small" and then it would fit or even be loose on me6

My perception of what clothes are likely to fit is way off.3 -

It sucks. I can't wrap my brain around it.

Sometimes I get so bloated I feel like I have a baby in there..I stick it out and rub it for fun. Also sometimes I feel it move. So weird. Not the same thing but odd nonetheless!2

The feeling was a legit thing for me; I can still feel bloated like it is sticking way out there. It's not totally flat yet, but it isn't sticking out like it feels; not even close.0 -

Hmm. Maybe it will take time for your brain to catch up with your new body?1
