Put your stats into MFP, set it to lose 0.5lb per week and you'll get a calorie goal.17
-
Put your stats into the calculator here at MFP and follow their recommendations. Adjust according to your results after 4-6 weeks.6
-
This calculator will calculate all of that for you...that's what it does.
Calculator going to calculate...12 -
1.25 pound a week average is a safe weight of loss so keep doing what you are doing. The tortoise beat the hare in the end. Don't panic. Keep on keeping on.9
-
Did you bypass that step?3
-
Ive been on MFP for years and have never followed the calculator. I lost 40 pounds years ago and recently gained 10. I used the scooby calculator and it put me around 1500 calories which is below my BMR and thats not going to work. I know it has to be higher than my BMR5

You should be eating around 1300. If you know your BMR then you should eb able to work out your calorie intake to cut?7

...put your stats in the MFP calculator.
Why are you asking other people to figure this out for you?8 -

Doesn't MFP automatically update calorie goal when you enter in your new weight loss? I haven't lost much weight yet so no change but I thought it did?

What I was referring to is that the number you're given from any calculator is a ballpark estimate - it may or may not actually be the right number for you. If you're not losing weight after 4-6 weeks, adjust your calories downward a bit and re-assess; if you're losing too fast, bump your calories up a bit and re-assess. That's using your own personal data as a continuous feedback mechanism to dial things in rather than blindly relying upon a number spit out by a calculator.6 -

Ill ask another messageboard, i remember why i left this place.14

You asked for advice on how much to eat, people told you but you are going to ignore it...9

Welcome to the club! :laugh:5 -
I wooed you because I couldn't see any way in which your response related to the OP's question. They should keep on... not eating at a deficit? Not knowing how many calories they should eat? Not knowing how to use the calculator?
What is it you think that your post helps them with?5 -
you are *literally* on an app that does these calculations for you. That is one of the main functions of MFP. So, follow all above advice. Because of your stats, I would recommend a 0.5 lbs loss per week.0

Or you could use the fitbit that you already have or use scooby as you have done before or use this very site that we are all on.
What exactly was the point of your post?
Wanting people to tell you how to use the tool you purchased perhaps?
Not being snarky but asking people to do exactly what you could do yourself and have even done for yourself before with more information than anyone else has available seems odd. You even know the results you got from your previous estimates which gives you a huge clue to your logging accuracy.
If you are disappointed with the responses then maybe look at your OP through a stranger's eyes.
Can you tell me my calorie needs better than I can?

I think you were wooed because 1.25 lbs is kinda steep for someone only looking to drop 10 lbs. Something like .5 lbs per week will preserve more muscle.8
