IIRC, its a very low calorie, heavy pill based plan. So loss of money, don't develope eating techniques to support your long term goals, paying a ton of money for supplements where you can get OTS ones for a fraction of the price.
Risky, maybe not so much, but a friend of mine was unusually sick while she followed it. If there isnt enough protein, then you coule lose muscle and slow your metabolism.5 -
Thanks so much for the info.0

I use their supplements with no adverse side effects. It’s not a diet plan at all. It is a supplement line to aid in nutritional intake especially when on a very restricted diet. It’s been helpful for me so far.11

Nutritional intake? So it's vitamins, minerals maybe protein and amino acids? That type of nutritional aid? Nothing in it to suppress the appetite?0

Its a fancy multivitamin. If you get their fat burners or any fat burner, its caffeine (can increase energy output, but you build a tolerance).
Even appetite suppressors are short term and you build a tolerance. The best appetite suppressant is protein and fiber; its also unverisal that people are satiated by them. Its why there is a big push with programs like slim fast, South Beach, etc.. to push protein shakes.
Ps- proteins breakdown into amino acids.2 -

Btw, if you want to know what supplements are worth a crap, here is a good running list.1 -
I'm doing great counting calories and exercising - as I said before this pertains to someone I care about. She started taking Plexus a few days ago and I wanting to see what the MFP collective's option of it is. I've received very few comments.
In my humble opinion the only way to loose weight permanently is to eat less of only good food and move! Simple and old fashioned, I know. No gimmicks, no pills or powders...
I'm just concerned about the overall health of someone who relies on "supplements".3 -
There are always, always going to be those that want that "magic pill" to lose weight. Plexus is one of those top choices I know of, especially for women it seems, to try to lose weight with little to no effort and it doesn't work, especially long term. Is a protein shake better than a McDonald's Value Meal? Yes, but so are 100s of things. Whenever you're talking MLM (Multi level marketing), you're paying at least double what you should pay and, many times, it's inferior ingredients from what you could get outside of MLMs.1
