Study snacks

Hi! I am a student and finals are coming. I have 7 exams in less that 3 weeks, so lots of studying. I am a bored-snacker and a stress-snacker; my snaking habit is at an all time high during finals. I have tried cut up carrots, cheese strings, apple slices, and popcorn but none of those seems to help the snack craving. I am huge on sweet snacks (gummy bears are my favorite study snack). Does anyone have any recommendations for snacks that won’t throw me over my calorie limit for the day?

    Some ideas:

If a cold day a warm roasted sweet potato (plus it takes an hour to cook in the oven so that delays the snacking taking up time as well)
Some puffed wheat cereal (that does not have too much sugar - you can eat quite a few cheerios for 100 calories)
Raspberries (though expensive where I live right now)
Nerds (but eat one by one)
Sugar free candy (I have really delicious Werthers that are only 10 calories, plus then I can't eat while it is in my mouth and I find by the time it is finished hopefully I'm distracted from my craving)

    Good luck on your exams!

You might enjoy jicama. Kind of tastes like an apple and a pear but crunchy and mild. It satisfies my crunch cravings pretty well.

    Good luck!

Roasted unsalted sunflower seeds might do a trick!

Wow. What kind of course load are you taking to have *seven* exams in such a close time-frame?? I have four to take in a couple weeks, and that's stressful enough. Anyways, for something sweet, I recommend using Nonfat Plain Greek Yogurt as a base and adding whatever you want to it such as fruit and small portions of sweets. See the image attached to this post for a combo I've been eating recently. It's a decent size for the calories, which you can adjust to be as high or low as you want with the yogurt portion and mix-ins.

Do you have to bake it or can you eat it raw?

Thanks for responding! I have never thought to put chocolate or graham crackers into yogurt— thanks for the idea!!

I am in my second year of veterinary school, thus I have so many exams. Good luck on your upcoming exams :)

If you like gummy bears, you might enjoy dried apples or freeze-dried fruit. Fruit leather (like Stretch Island) tastes good, but it's pretty easy to hoover down the whole thing too fast. Dried apples are chewy enough to slow me down. Good luck!
