I like how much better I feel eating Keto. Not tired like I have been for years. A lot more clarity and happier. I love my chips and salsa though. We will see if the weight comes off. Over 50 and I think I am Insulin resistant, which may explain a lot of my issues. Had a few carbs on Easter and felt horrible the next day. Bad headache and overall bloating and puffiness. On keto my face and stomach are not bloated so much! Not sure about eating so much fat. Everyone has to do what works for them. New to Keto, so time wil tell. Curious to see how the fats affect my overall cholesterol. Good luck to all!

Join the Low Carber Daily MFP group for more info on keto and cholesterol. There's a thread going right now.

So, what foods have you found to be helpful? I agree, the high fat is affecting my numbers as well. Thank you.0 -
@L1zardQueen @fitmom527 what "numbers" are you guys talking about? Cholesterol? Would you provide specific before and after numbers?0

@kshama2001 I had an elevated LDL and a normal HDL. Doctor wants to put me on a statin. She told me to exercise more and lower my fat intake. I exercise everyday, so it must be what I eat. I used to have perfect numbers, not sure why it has changed. She gave me 4 months to turn my numbers around or I will put on some prescription. Ugh.2

I was on Keto and my numbers were not good. I have gone back to tracking calories eating lean and clean foods. It has worked before, so now that I am 50, no need to get heart disease. Everyone is different and being in menopause means I have to do what is best for my body. Good luck!0
