Just wondering where everyone on FP is from and how does there surroundings help out with their weight loss? I am in Calgary, Alberta. Being so close to the mountains I do a lot of hiking.

Im from Hamilton Ontario. We have beautiful hiking trails that I walk or cycle in the summer and snow shoe in the winter. Nothing compares to the mountains though...0

I'm from Northwest Alabama, and it has no impact. I can watch what I eat and go to a gym no matter where I live. I would likely be more motivated if I lived close to a beach, but whatever lol.

Long Beach, California
10 minutes from the beach, so that’s a little extra motivation to get in shape lol4 -
The Yukon! Hiking, mountain biking, trail running, kayaking... pretty much every outdoor activity you can think of! Granted those are all summer-ish activities. Getting outside in the winter at -35C can be challenging sometimes, but if you dress right you can still take advantage of the outdoors2

Northern Ireland... and where I live has had no bearing on my weight loss and continuing success at staying at maintenance.5

I come from a land down under!
Really I should be in better shape seeing as were I live is very close to an incredibly beautiful walking track around a giant lake, but I don't perhaps use that as much as I should =\
other than that though living here doesn't really have much of an effect on my diet4 -
