Curious...where is everyone from?

Just wondering where everyone on FP is from and how does there surroundings help out with their weight loss? I am in Calgary, Alberta. Being so close to the mountains I do a lot of hiking.

Im from Hamilton Ontario. We have beautiful hiking trails that I walk or cycle in the summer and snow shoe in the winter. Nothing compares to the mountains though...

I'm from Northwest Alabama, and it has no impact. I can watch what I eat and go to a gym no matter where I live. I would likely be more motivated if I lived close to a beach, but whatever lol.

10 minutes from the beach, so that’s a little extra motivation to get in shape lol

The Yukon! Hiking, mountain biking, trail running, kayaking... pretty much every outdoor activity you can think of! :D Granted those are all summer-ish activities. Getting outside in the winter at -35C can be challenging sometimes, but if you dress right you can still take advantage of the outdoors

Eureka, CA. We are about five minutes from the beach and redwoods, so there are all kinds of activities.

I come from a land down under!
Really I should be in better shape seeing as were I live is very close to an incredibly beautiful walking track around a giant lake, but I don't perhaps use that as much as I should =\
other than that though living here doesn't really have much of an effect on my diet

Washington DC-area, US. I can walk out my front door and connect to hundreds of miles of bike paths and trails. It helps motivate me to keep running.
