came back from the dietician in a bit of a shock. having measured my bloods I am really on the border of diabetes and all that it entails. Not prepared to go on any more med as I think I take too many at the moment. So started to look at my diet and stuff. I have come to the conclusion that I am borderline greedy pig! I have now started on my diet and exercise program and aim to lose 1lb per week at the least. Been told it no good to fool myself into thinking I can lose 8lbs a week so tiny steps tiny steps. I am 13st and 5ft3 and small and round just doesn't cut it any more :)

I found out that I am border line about a month ago. I have been tracking my food, counting carbs, and going to get healthy. My kids deserve their momma to be healthy. You can do it!!

If you are overweight and borderline, you will likely be able to turn your numbers around with weight loss and exercise. Make changes you can envision yourself still doing 10 years from now. Your goal is health, the weight loss is just a by product of your new habits.

I’m in exactly the same position as you, but have no idea where to start! What’s a good carb/sugar level we should be aiming for on here?

Also, any tips on what’s the best alcohol to drink? I’m 22 so don’t want this to affect this :( anything’s better than my usual flavoured cider!

same boat here... except i'm a chocaholic :/ I've been logging and watching what i eat.... except teh 2 squares of chocolate a day (keeps my sanity with 5 kids ) although i haven't lost weight, i'm happy i haven't gained either. anyone have replacement ideas for chocolate? i don't eat cookies/cake/chips, it's seriously chocolate or gummy peach hearts that are my vice...
my mom died young (53) 6 years ago from complications form diabetes, so i definitely don't wanna follow in her footsteps....
