A friend of mine has offered me a ProForm Treadmill for free. Said they bought it brand new about 7 years ago and have barely used it since. I don't know the model number. Anyone out there have experience with one? Should I make a space for it and take it?

I use a ProForm one that is about 4 years old when I go to PT for my leg. Personally I would take it. I have a stationary bike now but if I could get a tread or elliptical I would be all over it.

Free is a very good price....If you end up not liking it, you can pay it forward and give it to someone else...

Well, the price seems pretty good, not much negotiating room..., lol!

I'm not sure what kind I have, but it has sat in my basement for a number of years. As a clothing rack. UNTIL I joined MFP, and now I have used it so many times, I'm just glad it was there! I believe we paid around $700 for it.

    I say go for it!

I have one from 11 years ago and it still works great! I hate the thing, but it works great, LOL (I should clarify that I only hate working out on it b/c I'd rather be outside :)) The price is right considering I paid 600 bucks for mine!

I have the ProForm Series I 765 Crosstrainer and I like it. I really only use it in the winter but mine has a ton of different preprogramed options (and inclines) and it tracks calories, miles, fat etc. I agree, free is good and they are nice to have around when the weather outside is too bad to walk/run for real.

If you were to buy this, it would have been in the 600-1200 range; depending upon features.

Free is great. If the motor turns the belt - you are ahead. I'd suggest you get it.

FRee = FOR SURE...even if you decide down the line that you would want a different mode/features...this is a great way to make sure you really WANT a treadmill. I prefer to run outside...but living in IA I know I will need my treadmill in the winter! I got my off Craigslist and it works great...it is a Proform also.

My son and daughter-in-law brought me their ProForm Treadmill Crosstrainer, which they bought used, 3 weeks ago, and I have used it almost every day since I have had it. We have had over 100 degree temperatures here for over the last month, so it has really come in handy. I am still trying to get my time up on it, but I am 67 years old and was a couch potato, so It is going to take me a while. Yes, by all means get the treadmill and use it.

Just check the weight limits, and I only say that b/c my husband is heavier and the smaller treadmills wouldn't be good for us, b/c the motors are much smaller.

But its free so I"d prob take if if we didn't already have one. I'd get a belt cleaner to start with and go from there.
