Fit pizza into your weekly goal?

I kinda hate how people make this sound so easy. Must be nice.

I’m going to use a phrase that I hate to make a point about a phrase that you used that I also hate...

“Don’t take this the wrong way but...”
anyone who says “must be nice” in response to something that someone else has, or does, that they aren’t doing doesn’t actually have any feelings related to being happy for that other person. That phrase is usually only coming from a place of resentment and jealousy, and seriously, you’re resentful that people can work pizza in their daily calories? It’s a choice! You can make that choice too! You’ve chosen to focus on your body aesthetic and trying to achieve really admirable, aggressive goals for yourself. You are striving for something that most people don’t even consider a possibility.

Yes I eat pizza and fit it into my calories, I had it last night, with a glass of wine and two cookies even, and I wasn’t over my calories. I’m not saying that to brag I’m saying it’s truly possible to eat these foods and still meet MY goals but those are not YOUR goals. Perhaps you should consider just how important the training and body composition is to you if hearing that people can easily fit pizza into their weekly goals prompts you to make a comment that sort of sounds nice but really means that you are loathing that person inside. Because you know what’s even less fun than not eating pizza? Not eating pizza and stewing about other people who can eat pizza because they’ve made different goal choices than you have.

Listen. I get what you're saying. But sometimes I feel like a few members brag a lot. And for me it's not the fact that this person can fit pizza or a burger into their day, it's more that I can't moderate like that. And sometimes I think people forget that I'm not the only one who can't moderate.

I was better at moderating before I started counting calories.

There are things I can't moderate either. Quite a few of them.

I could moderate a lot better when I still had a higher body fat percentage and now I just can't do it without binges happening.

So I feel frustration at not being able to moderate.

What I don't feel is being resentful that other people can. They're not bragging, they're making suggestions. I remember how it felt to learn that moderation was an option back when I first started using it during the stage of dieting when I was able to implement it and it was so liberating. We're told constantly by the dieting industry that we must deprive ourselves or we'll never lose weight, and to find out it wasn't true was empowering.

Now that I've found that I do need to keep foods away from myself? Well, um, that's my thing. Not someone else's, you know?

I get what you're saying but sometimes I hear a lot of "JUST EAT WHAT YOU WANT IN MODERATION" even AFTER an OP has stated that they don't necessarily want to do that. Or they're struggling with that. I completely understand making new "dieters" aware of it, but I really do get tired of people just throwing it around like you should already know, or like it's easy for everyone.

I'm going to pop out of the conversation as not to derail but if anyone wants to continue the discussion you can DM me.

@ must be nice. I identify. I don't believe in cheat meals as a regular "thing" and i work my butt off to keep my weight where I want it, a half a pizza and i'd be working all week to just get back to where i was before the pizza. I believe in staying on track and knowing that from time to time you will have days you cant stay on your diet plan because LIFE. But thats not the same as downing a pizza and a few pints and thinking it won't affect your goals. To each his own for sure but if she sounded like she envied being able to pound away some food and not have it show so what? Thats legit. 6 foot guy puts on three pounds of weight over the weekend, whatever. 5 foot woman does the same, its shows. I don't think she was hating, she was just being honest. If i craved pizza cause everyone else was eating it i'd order my chicken and have a sliver to taste it and move on with my goals

To Pizza Whisperer at the top of the page. For sure find another alternative to chicken kebabs and when you want some pizza either find a healthier version that fits into your diet or have your regular meal and add one slice of the stuff you crave from time to time. I do believe that over time when you replace the stuff that sabotages your goals with healthier alternatives, you do stop really craving that stuff. It still looks and smells good but you you are usually satisfied with a little instead of eating the whole pie.

I would not recommend you find an alternative to chicken kebabs, because it's chicken kebabs you want. This is going to make you splurge in the long run. Eat a healthy breakfast, healthy lunch and have your chicken kebab maybe like once a month or something. Is it really realistic that you will never taste this food again? If the answer to this question is no, then you should just implement it.. If you are trying to change your lifestyle.

Then really enjoy the chicken kebab and eat it slowly.. And remember to stop if you're feeling full. As long as your calorie intake per week is less than calories burned, then you will be fine.. Just remember that if it suddenly turns out to be a chicken kebab a week, this will most likely slow down your weight loss process..

Is the chicken kebab a week really worth it? When you can have it once a month and barely notice that "splurge"? This can also work as a motivation! You can put it in your calendar.. and do sort of a count down. But you can only have the chicken kebab if you've been doing good the 30 days in between.

If you make home made chicken kebabs, find out how many calories it has! And cut down whatever you can.. For instance, I have a weakness for burgers.. So I just switched out the bread and it saved me like 600 calories, and weighed my dressing. Got it to under 500 calories, and it still tastes amazing.
