I'd love to join too if you have room! My name is Michelle. I'm 43 years old, married, and we have one son. I'm an RN on a busy Neuro floor, and I'm also working toward my DNP in Family Medicine. Life is hectic at times!

Tired of being overweight, but more afraid of being Unhealthy. I need to practice what I preach to my patients! I'm active on MFP, and with this community and support, I've lost 25+ lbs since Jan 1st. Would love to be at my goal weight by Sept. 6th! Sept 9th is our wedding anniversary and I'd love to take one of our bucketlist vacations to celebrate both! ;)

Thank you for adding me! I just finished a 3 month weekly challenge and was feeling lost. My name is Patty, I live on the central coast of California. I am married and have two girls away in college. Oh yes, and I work at a health club. It’s pretty embarrassing to be this overweight and work in the health industry. You are right Michelle, if we are going to talk the talk, we need to walk the walk. I am in, I am committed, and I plan to lose at least 20 ponds! Good Luck everyone.

    Hey Patty

I'm from Wigan in the north UK

I know what you mean about the health club stigma. I used to dance professionally and when I tell people who have only know me big that are confused hahaha

    I'm 5'11 and was 298.5lbs in Oct 2017 when I returned from holiday; I was a UK size 22 / US size 20 and now I am down to 230lbs and UK 16 / US 12

    I will get there!!!! :)

Tracie- AWESOME JOB! Yes it’s too bad people are so judgmental. I have been teaching 2 spinning classes a week for over 10 years at 200 pound. The people in class and around the club know how strong I am, but if I tell someone around town, they are surprised. I know I should not be this heavy, but had issues that only food seemed to help. I am ready to get back to my healthy weight. Let’s do it together!

I’ve set a 21 day challenge for myself to stay in the box with my food choices. This means planning ahead for my food each day, packing a lunch and plenty of healthy snacks for the entire day (as I leave early for work and don’t get home til late) and having enough food and water available each day.

Going outside the box means eating food that’s not healthy for me and wasn’t planned for ( such as chips or a Pepsi). With three meals a day and a minimum four healthy snacks I find I stay in the box the best. I’m not hungry and by eliminating sweets (including sodas even if a diet soda) I don’t have the cravings so badly.

    Here’s to our success!!!

I went up this week (boo) but I'm stil really motivated because I can see where I went wrong. I baked about 3 days this week and ate a lot more bread than I had been plus I did way more snacking this week. However, when I looked in the mirror this morning, I could really see a difference (I wasn't going to weigh myself since I knew I had eaten so much but because of how I looked, I decided to do it) But the great thing about it is, knowing I could see a difference, I measured myself and my waist had gone down an inch since my least measurement so I'm still seeing some progress (overall I've lost 3 inches in my waist).

Oh boy. Well, that's not good. 3.7lb in a week is more than I want to be losing, as it's not really sustainable. My calorie goal is at 1500/day but I might raise that to 1600 and try that for a week and see how that goes. Happy Friday, ladies and gents!

I've only been home 3 days for about the last two weeks. Traveling and eating out often is not easy when you're trying to lose weight! Lol. I'll be home and back to my normal routine Wednesday. Grateful I haven't gained. I weighed in using a scale where I'm staying...hopefully it's in the ballpark. Trying to walk and do some strength training while I'm here. Even found a local hiking trail that's really great. I love being outside whenever I can! Hope all is going well for you guys <3
