First time doing this challenge but I am in for 85 miles if I calculated my training plan correctly.8
-
I’m an old jogger- not that old actually but it’s been a long while since I jogged consistently. I’m in for 50 miles in May...5/1/18 is the next day of the rest of my days!! Ready to do this!!

Well, since I have been soooooo successful the past 2 months, I'm going to back it up, both in mileage and training. To get myself going again, doing a 5K training plan I've seen on line (Coach Jenny Hadfield's 5K Beginning run). So May's goals:
1. Be as consistant as I can with the training plan
2. 20 miles9 -

To display that correctly in your post, make sure you place the img tags around that link. So it will look, (removing the spaces in the img tags):

Some key things to pay attention to when posting your ticker.
1: Use the link that ends in .png
2. Remember the [ img] and [ /img] tags go in between the link
3. remove the spaces in the img tags before posting
4. YES, there is a / in the second /img tag

Welcome @Snapdragonincident, @mrsjhardin , @Blondienv
We love group newbies and old joggers!
Jump on in, don't let the magnatide of this thread keep you from chiming in and adding your personality to this amazing group of runners.
We have a Strava group, if anyone wants to join and share their runs. Just search MFP Monthly Running Challenge
@Orphia Is there a sisu shirt in the works? I like our embrace the suck. It's light and great for summer runs. "My other shirts a sisu"? Haha! "Got SISU?" Oooo... I like it! "Just SISU it"??? Maybe it could be made in Braille (or Morse code), just in case we run into @garygse9 -
Okay y'all, alarm is set for 5AM. 10K before work tomorrow ftw...
(Let's see if I can convince myself not to hit snooze.)8 -
In again. My goal is once again to follow my training plan. I have no idea what mileage that will be and I’m not sure I want to think about it. The numbers still look fairly human for this month though so it shouldn’t be that much.
The long runs this month are what the second to last month (or so) of half marathon training usually is (for me anyway. my longest training runs have been 16). Only instead of being the second to last month, it’s barely the beginning. That’s been kind of a mind shift.
152 days to the marathon (Wineglass).2 -
I'm in for 60k, same as last month. I also want to make sure I run 3 times per week.2
-
I’m in for 80 this month2
-
It's now on my To Do list (literally - I use the ToDoist app which helps me gets lots more done than I used to).3 -
May 2018
Goal: 220 km
01 May - 6 km

Going to aim for 40 miles again this month. Hopefully I’ll be more successful than I was in April. This week is finals week for my students, so it may be a bit difficult, but things should get easier after that.2

That's all it takes. Just do one. One minute, one kilometer, one mile, one step. Who can do it! How many times can you do it???
My running goal is 10
Lurkers - Get in on the Fun. Double Down on @Elise4270 's Goal.
Hey, that's me - I'm in for 20 miles8 -
Lower than normal month with my 1st planned 26.2 this Sunday...then taking a week off and rest of the month beginning a slow reverse taper/build-up, etc. for balance of May.
Will target a guess of 84 miles which is 50% of my 168 monthly goal avg for the year to hit 2018 miles in total. (Ytd - 758 or thru April 189.5/mth)6 -
Easy start to the month. I was going to run after Girls on the Run this afternoon, but my body woke up 45 mins before my alarm and I figured that was enough time for a little shake out. My legs are still super tight and dead from the relay (I think actually more the standing + running + jogging + 3 hours more standing...), but they feel a tiny bit better now than they did when I woke up!
Setting my monthly goal at 150. I have 162 on my schedule, but I have some major travel over Memorial Day weekend at the end of the month to drive to Iowa and back to NJ for my brother's high school graduation, so I'm giving myself some leeway.
5/1: 3.2 miles
Current: 3.2
Goal miles: 150
Upcoming Races:
5/20: Watershed Running Festival - Trail 10k - Pennington, NJ4 -
I won’t set a mileage goal (it makes me want to skip necessary rest days), but will report my miles.
The weekly plan is 4 runs (2 easy, 1 tempo or intervals, 1 LSD), 2 days rowing & strength, and 1 day active rest (leisurely walk, bike, or swim).
Year-long goal: New 5K PB <29:25.
Events:
Amica Iron Horse 5K, 6/3
Smith Family Quadathon, 7/4
Parkruns in Yorkshire, 8/4, 8/11
Surftown 5K, 9/9
Apple Harvest 5K, 10/7
@__TMac__ any particular Yorkshire parkruns in mind? (this Yorkshirewoman would love to know)0 -

Even easier: I just copy and paste the first link (bb Code). It always shows up correctly for me... hopefully everyone else can see it!
I'm in for 111.1 km this month. Main goal though, is to run and recover well from the marathon.
Today I raced a little 5k... it was basically in a huge parking lot, going around and between warehouse buildings, in the sun, with a 10:45 am start time. So it was kind of hot. There were a lot of turns, so I was very careful to run the tangents and felt I did it well - maybe too well, as my GPS measurement came out a little short at the end. But it was close, and I never adjust official times when GPS measures long, so I'm just taking the results they came up with. Either way it was a PR but just to be sure, I guess I'll just have to go faster next time I race this distance
Upcoming races:
5/1 Ecobieg Elizówka 5k - DONE!
5/13 Lublin Marathon
6/2 Solidarność Half-Marathon
Summer trail HM tbd2 -
...
...
I hit snooze 5 times. Will run home from work today, try again tomorrow, and fill ya in if I figure it out5 -

@BruinsGal_91 - That’s an excellent question! We’ve rented a house outside of Leeds (in Guiseley) for 3 weeks, so I thought I’d try to hit a couple in the vicinity. Any recommendations?
3 miles this morning. 48dF and sprinkling.
May tally: 3!2 -
I'm in for 100 miles this month though my mileage will depend on whether I decide to run another HM in a couple of weeks. I ran my first a few weeks ago and wasn't terribly happy with my time (weather hampered) but I'm pretty sure I can resolve that with one more go. That said, this race is somewhat inconvenient for me logistically and I already know that I'll put a HM on the schedule for September so it won't kill me not to run it. If I opt out, then I'll probably sign up for a fun 10K or something instead.
Either way, 5 easy miles this morning. The weather is finally starting to turn and it's great to have morning light back when I'm out at 5:30 AM.

There are plenty of parkruns in and around Leeds. http://www.parkrun.org.uk/leeds/ and you could also take a look at the Bradford area too http://www.parkrun.org.uk/bradford/
I think the most scenic would be Temple Newsam and Roundhay Park. But there could be a little bit of bias sneaking in there because both of those are close to where I grew up.
I'm sure you'll have fun whichever one you choose.0 -

Thank so much! The Temple Newsam course in particular looks beautiful. We could probably make a whole day out of that one.0 -
