Abbreviations, script, contractions, abridgement, and symbolism become prolific from the earliest times when papyrus and ink (or earlier) were scarce, and even transcended through to modern day book printing. Even the smallest character savings could mean a lot through a larger book. Reading an old Farmer's Almanac I found '&c', which is the very condensed version of even the current abbreviation of 'etc.' ('et cetera').
&c is also a variable reference call in C programming.1 -

Apparently sneezing is very risky business. Your heart stops and you can blow your eyes out!
What about when you get those sneezing fits where you can't stop sneezing. Are you at risk of a heart attack with it stopping over and over again!?!2 -
