Would it be cause for jealousy just the same?

Nope. Just ask Mike Pence. You're not even allowed to be in the same room with a member of the opposite sex. STOP THINKING ABOUT IT! You're going to sexplode.5

I'm married and have multiple friends who are men. Have had no issues so far. Pretty sure this is an individual thing and not strictly "you must do this in a relationship or else".0

Absolutely. I've never understood the logic that those friendships inherently inappropriate when in a relationship. I don't know about anyone else, but whether I'm in a relationship or not, my clothes do not spontaneously fall off my body when I'm in the presence of my preferred gender. When I'm in a monogamous relationship I'm fully aware of appropriate boundaries, and no friendship will/has ever suddenly make me forget those boundaries. Fortunately my wife agrees. I have had male friends who have been told by their girlfriends they could no longer spend time with me, just because I'm female. I find it frustrating and completely absurd, we mostly worked out in the gym together, if that's threatening to your relationship you have much bigger fish to fry.3

Is it appropriate to be married and have married members of the opposite sex (or same) as close personal friends?
Yes. Be friends with whoever you want. My best friends are men, married and single. It's never been a problem. If it were, the issue would be trust, not the friendships themselves.0 -

Canes, you brazen hussy!1 -
I think it's a sad reflection of the marriage if you can't be trusted to have friends of the opposite gender personally...
If you trust your partner then it's not an issue, if you don't then why are you married?2 -

Lol, would not be the first time that's been lobbed my direction; probably won't be the last.
I think people like to assume more is going on than is because they are severely bored... or have trust issues themselves.1 -

Do you trust him now?0 -
I have plenty of female friends, but I don’t hang out with them like I used to. The friendship hasn’t changed but the dynamic of it has.1
