My husband would agree with Shawshank. I love "The Gods Must Be Crazy" and "When Harry Met Sally" but we have a law in our house that whenever "The Blues Brothers" is on, we MUST watch it.

Fight Club is my all time favorite. Brilliant. Just...uttterly brilliant.

Dogma and Pulp Fiction are the other members of my cinematic Holy Trinity.

Star Wars and The Matrix are the other 2 in my top 5.

Some great movies mentioned here - quiet man, dirty dancing
My all time best movie though has to be Gone With The Wind...I love it and the book, they are amazing, especially when you consider when it was filmed. Clarke Gable and Vivienne Leigh were superb.

The BEST movie of all time for me is "Terms of Endearment" with Shirley MacLaine, Debra Winger, Jeff Bridges and Jack Nicholson, "Mask" is a close second with Eric Stoltz, Sam Elliott and Cher....Third choice is "Steel Magnolias" with a great cast of female actresses...they are all tear jerkers, but well worth the tissues...

My favorite movie: Remember the Titans!
  • my husband and I love, "True Lies"...we have seen it at least 40 times, and know and do most of the dialoge. Tom Arnold and all his little funny snipes make the movie so funny..also when Jamie Lee Curtis is dancing on the bed post, and slips off it...lolololololol ..priceless !!!!!!

  • To the serious film buffs amongst us I am sure this will be very difficult.....but if you could pick just ONE movie...what would you say was the BEST film you have ever seen? One that left a lasting impression on you that is.

Mine has got to be "The Shawshanks redemption" (1994) with Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman....so many memorable quotes and an absolutely brilliant ending.

    So..whats yours?

The Shawshank Redemption is my favourite as well.
The acting is great, the shots are amazing, the plot is engaging. It's a great movie!
