DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) may not show up until the day after, but any actual strain or pull injury I've had has usually been noticeable soon after the movement that caused it, rather than a day later. I wish I could help, but I don't have a guess. Apologies!

There are a lot of muscles in the back and abdomen and they overlap. Where you are feeling the soreness might not be where the muscle originates. There are a lot of muscles involved in Zumba or any dance class. It could also have occurred outside of class if you carries packages or a heavy bag or suitcase.

As weird as it sounds it could also be in the intestines and not a muscle--constipation, gas, etc.
